Can't see the pic... although i seem to recall a pic of it on a previous tattoo thread. Wold like to see it again if possible.

I've just arranged to take my last nightshift off to give me a days rest before my next session now. The pain is part of it... but i don't want to hurt THAT much.

I really enjoy the whole process - the shaving of the area, the smell of the antiseptic, the buzz of the machine just before he starts to ink...

Am i convincing you yet!!?

Darron, i hear what you're saying but you (I) can only go with what feels right now. Regret, if any, is for the future. Life is now.

See if you can link to it: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v225/Pburgess68/...

I hear what you are saying about the 'mystique' of tattooing, some ancient initiation ceremony. Like some people have a reaction to the whine of the dentist drill, I get a thrill to the buzz of the tattoo gun. I used to love it, like being part of some exclusive club. I've really got to go get some more done sometime. scratchchin

Having a pain free tattoo somehow removes that mystique I fear, when any Joe Blow can walk in and grab a 'fashion accessory' with no hardship. frown

This is my current work in progress.

There is a drag race xmas tree to be added that goes down my spine, and another pro mod drag car to go the other side.

This is a crap pic of two full 8 hour days believe it or not.And the car in the pic is STILL not finished. The gaps are due to my old wrinkly moley back.

Hoping to get it finished in the next few months subject to finances.

Excuse the crappy phone pic, its all Ive got at the mo....

Just thought i'd update as i've had another 2 sessions since the last one:

Some of the pics are a little blurry as someone (ahem) forgot to put the VR on on the SLR.

So that bit is all finished. The next session on 27th June will be to do the linework for the rest of the sleeve.

Cheers,

Johnny

Right I am extremely keen to get a tattoo. What is best way to find a decent tattooist? I know what I want I just need to get a design done based on my ideas. I would like a traditional one done with as much detail, texture and shadowing as possible. I am aware of additional cost and waiting time but what id best way to go about it?

You sound like a bit of a saddo to me mate. Are you really so unconfident and weak-minded that you have to do this just to earn the supposed respect of a mate? Get a mind of your own for God's sake.

I know a girl who had a tiger tattooed onto her lower back a few years ago. It looked pretty crap to me, if I want to see a picture of a tiger I'll go to an Esso garage. Anyway, when she got pregnant with twins it stretched sideways and turned into something which looked more like a zebra on acid. After the birth it went saggy and now looks like a wrinkled old man wearing cat's ears. She regrets it bitterly and is mocked unmercifully.

People who have tattoos are by and large a disappointing bunch of losers, failures and sociopaths who have neither the intelligence nor accuity to see that the rest of society isn't going to be impressed. So if you ask me, I reckon you'll look like a c*nt.
you sound like a complete tosser.

Not too sure about W Yorks (been living in Leeds for the last 6yrs, but never been to any tattoists there) but there is a veritable plethora of quality artists down here in London Village...

I'd fully recommend Kamil who does my work... But he has a very distinct style that not everyone will appreciate (which is a bonus, IMO) so it all depends on what you want. Buy a few issues of Total Tattoo & Skin Deep (Kamil is the main feature artist in both this month) and get an idea of which artists do the kind of style you're after and go in and have a chat...

It IS worth traveling to get get what you want. It just so happens that the person i wanted to do mine is only 1/2hr away...

Feel free to PM me if you want... I'm not the fountain of knowledge on all things inky, but I'm more than happy to help... It took me around 10yrs to get the design/artist combo, so I can advise about not rushing in at least!!

The thing about tattooed people is they don't care if you are not tattooed.

Non-tattooed people seem to get incredibly vocal, emotional, concerned and upset about the whole thing, for some reason I've never quite fathomed yet.

Forget the tattoo (which is nice, but not for me) what's with the pierced navel? Okay on a woman but a bloke - freaky ...

:shudder:

The one think I can't understand is why anyone ever gets their face pierced? Not ears, face. What is the point - so that people think: he's kewl (I hate that word), he has a ring through his eyebrow ...

It's all just a fashion thing to my mind (like tattoos) and when it goes out of fashion, people are going to find they don't wash off ... biggrin

Strange that people have them 'for themselves - a personal design' ( hehe )but insist on showing them off all the time ...

I find it hard to accept the folk who get their babies ears pierced. I'm sure I'd get some funny looks down the school if I had a stud popped into my daughters nose, or a ring in her lip, but pierced ears seems acceptable, and normal, on three month old babies. Why?

Can't stand them myself hurl but I guess if it floats your boat...........The few people I know who have them, bathe in the limelight of "look at me, look what I've got" for a few days. The novelty then wares off, unlike the ink.
Your body shape will change, your skin will stretch & the "art work" will become an unrecognizable mess hurl

All in my very umble opinion of course
