Can't stand them myself hurl but I guess if it floats your boat...........The few people I know who have them, bathe in the limelight of "look at me, look what I've got" for a few days. The novelty then wares off, unlike the ink.
Your body shape will change, your skin will stretch & the "art work" will become an unrecognizable mess hurl

All in my very umble opinion of course
Ok, thanks for letting us know rolleyes

Cheers for all the positive comments, always appreciated...

Those that don't like/want to bh/ want to make stupid assumptions - please feel free. I couldn't really give a fk. It's a tattoo thread, therefore I posted pics of the one i'm having done... it's quite simple (like me, obviously rolleyes )

The navel piercing was because I wanted it. I've had it dne for about 15yrs, well before it was 'fashionable'. I'm getting my cock pierced next week - anyone want to tell me how wrong that is??

I don't get the mentatlity of people who post in threads they don't like/get...?

If a thread is about, for example, 'babies, kittens & knitting' I won't read it, and won't post in it... Why? Because I have no interest in those things, will never have any of things things, or partake in said activities. So I won't waste my, and those that ARE interested in such things, time...

Just a thought...

Oh, and yes, the watch is a Breitling Emergency thumbup

There's a statement I've seen about drag racing that simply states "If I need to explain it, you wouldn't understand it"... It seems to apply to tattoos too..

Arse wings get me. I know they're a fashion statement right now, every girl you see with low slung hipsters has them, but surely girls realise they are going to go out of fashion one day, like flared jeans, jumbo collars etc? Or is it that they have become acceptable, and mainstream, due to Miami ink and all? Are tattoos the new leather jacket? Once banned from every pub in the country, but suddenly permanently acceptable because Princess Di wore one?

I don't really know, no idea. I had my tattoos because I wanted them, started 30 years ago, in an age when it was not fashionable, acceptable or common to have anything bigger than a 'Mam and Dad' heart on your forearm.

Oooooh, i was with you up to that point Johnny!!! :shudder:

Love the artwork though, its gonna be a beauty when its all finished.

I'm debating whether to go colour or not for my next one - my first 2 are black so it may look a bit odd if i go colour. Who knows....

So who is the first to get the pistonheads logo and "speed matters" inked?
MMMmmhhh. Been thinking about doing this for a while now. Just want something that will show my love of cars etc. Only really want something smallish and black and white, don't really want a generic car or manufacturers logo. Would this be a really bad idea? Would haymarket give me loads of free stuff? Would they sue me?

Haven't read the whole thread so I don't know the fors and against. I have 7 tattoos and they are addictive once you've had the first one (well they were for me).
The cobra snake is there as it is the badge on my 67 Shelby Mustang.

Johnny, love the tattoo mate, looks even better each time you post more pictures!

as for the person who said about people who say 'its for me yadda yadda' then show it off... not everyone does!

mine is for me, its on my back and i hardly ever go anywhere topless... so who the feck is going to see it?

have decided that I'm going to get the line work on mine redone alot neater and more prominantly / thicker as colouring in will be too much considering the sentiment behind it imo, too bold and it will loose the effect. have also been working on the design for my next one now as it is addivtive, but i dont want to just go flicking through books / the net to find suitable designs

Seeing as we have yet another tattoo thread running, i thought I'd update this one with a couple of pics of my latest addition, another 2.5 hours on Friday... All comments (including the 'i don't get it?' type) welcome, as always.

Taken on the iPhone and not with the D200 so quality might not be great:

Stencil and freehand sketching:

Line work done:

Some shading:
