We really do need a thread, 'Best Nightclub You've Ever Been In...'

I take it no one had been to either world's smallest night club 'Boulevards' or the bigger but not better 'Club Oasis' in Crawley, sadly neither is still with us actually not sadly this is a good thing.

klute in durham. voted 2nd worst club in europe by FHM, however the "winner" burnt down so it inherited the title. a cramped, dirty, rat infested old boat house down by the river, an absolute fortune to get in and for drinks, and the rah rah durham students cant get enough of it.

ill chime in on brasingamens in alderely edge. nothing but aspiring premiership footballers, gold diggers and local scum to be found in there. kind of sums up all of alderely edge actually.

best club - pacha ibiza without a doubt. its not just a night out, its an experience

This place is actually in Morecambe, but I agree, its an absoloue shit hole. All my 6th form balls were held there and it was a case of wiping your feet on the way out and trying not to sit down on anything.

Not Lancaster Grammar by any chance? Our 6th Form leaving "balls" were held at the Carleton too, I'd agree about the awfulness of it, although it was made slightly better by the very fact that it was officially the last event that you'd have with school.

Thank god you lot havent been traumatised by the hotspots of my youth:

In no particular order:

Top of the Town, Widnes: An utter hovel of a joint frequented by Widnes Rugby players and skanks the likes you have seen on a Discovery channel special about evolution.

Mr Smiths, Warrington: As above but had the dubious connection with the Hit Man and Her show, tied in with,

Ritzys, Bromborough: More of the same, ultra chavness and this was before chavs even where a recognised breed. Rockports and Berghaus was the dresscode.

And the worst from my youth, The Bank Chambers, Runcorn. No droids allowed in there, Star Wars Cantina style bar, fighting and a stabbing per visit guarantee assured.

and who could forget The Venue in Poole

You should see the one here in Southampton! Even worse!!!
As well as; New york New york, god-forsaken, steaming pile of a place.
Ikon and Diva, just plain sh1t, always a fight in one and mutton dressed as crap in the other.
Jumping jacks, the least said the better!
Kellys, small dark and dingy, people in ther always seem on edge as if waiting for a fight to happen.
Brannigans(when it was open), sticky carpets(what is the point of carpets in night clubs?), rude staff, over priced drinks and a real mix of odd-balls, from your common knuckle draging lout right up to the obese 50 year old woman who trys to squeeze into a size 10 dress! Shocking beond belief.
And from my younger days, Felix Park and Martines II in Eastleigh, Both were painted black on the inside, the music was dire, the DJs in both clubs needed hanging and the loos were always over flowing. Only good thing about them was at kicking out time, both clubs would meet in the bus station and HUGE fight would kick off. We would stand at a safe distance and watch it all happen taking bets with the guy who ran the buger bar as to who would come out with most of their face intact.

From around there you forgot Storeys in Widnes... the kind of place were you were over-dressed if you had both your ears, and the only place I've ever (thank god) seen a woman glass another woman with an ashtray. We used to go to Top of the Town for surphisteecation. Happy days

it was last time I drove past it I haven't been there for years (grew up just along the coast and it was our nearest big night out Unless we were feeling brave and went to the Palace in Crewkerne!!

The question is are you old enough to remember DV's when it was Scruples? I went to see Simon Bates there when I was 14 - got snuck in by someone who was old enough to be there!!

Lost a few brain cells getting newt-like around Bletchley/Milton Keynes - we used to end up in Razyles (sp) in Bletchly most friday & saturday nights.

Only place I've been in where they frisked you for weapons - came as a shock to us, we were from Liverpool & had never seen a place like it! (This was back in the late 80s, them were the days! )

Forgotten one - Kickers, Whiteladies Road in Bristol.

Oh my God - how did I forget!

spent every Monday night in there for 4 years whilst at uni.

The place should have a blue plaque

Kickers has now rebranded and is managed by a PHer...

I keep meaning to go along and see if it's changed.

Not many will agree but Fabric in Farringdon is the worst night club I've ever been to. Crap music, a haven for drug pushers, poorly air-conditioned and expensive to boot. I just wanted to make my escape ASAP.
