This may be too much info for some of you weaker stomached Ph'er....

If so please skip my post.

I actually watched part of 5th gear whilst 'losing some weight'; well I thought I might as well add to the pile of shite!

Best thing about it is that we now have something to Divert the lentlilists towards.

Start the 'Ban 5th gear' campaign here.

100% agreement, I went off to count my toes after about 10mins of Fifth gear as it was slightly less boring. Even seeing VBH cloud9 didn't make up for it.

Worse, I was squirming with embarrasment for most of it and then got up and left when they started crushing cars with a digger.

I've been sitting here for about an hour and a half trying to think of some good points.

Haven't managed as yet.

The best bits were the robotic car. It could have done with more indepth information as to how it works, possible applications, if there is any future for it etc. Not just driving around cones.

The Toyota Aygo DJ. The feature was too long. It could have done with a road test (if indeed it does drive), a bit more information on the set up, how loud it is etc. Why they built it. Pretending to be a DJ for 10 minutes was tedious I thought.

The Test drive by Tiff was pointless, How about comparing it too it's rivals, rather than lots of shots of him blatting around the track. Racing against the plane was pointless and I still don't know anything more about the car. confused He just did that feature and did not join the other presenters in reviewing it.

VBH, was hardly more interesting with the Mini GP either. Why race against a RC Car. Why not compare to the standard Mini, or equivalent from another manufacturer?

Crushing the car- Totally trash television. This looks like it had come out of Vroom Vroom. Lets fill 5 minutes of air time. Buy a cheap car, hire a digger, crush car. That's not been done before rolleyes

The interview with Al Gore was was a wasted opportunity. "Wooden actor man" couldn't even interview him properly, asking questions in the most monotone and boring way. My brain completely switched off.

Whoever chose the Ace cafe for a set needs shooting.............

......a lot.

You cannot do a programme like that in a biker cafe. It did look like a set from Eastenders. The new guy is totally lacking in character.
He absolutely killed the programme in the first minute.

5th Gear were getting close to TG last series, this time it seems they are more in the vroom Vroom league.

From the probably best ever 5th gear at the end of the last series, I hoped they'd start improving from there, but instead its become unbearably shite.

To misquote Forest Whittaker in Good Morning Vietnam:

""Tim Lovejoy sucks the sweat off of a dead man's balls." I have no idea what that means, sir, but it seems very negative to me."

"We got one letter from a man who thought that Fifth Gear was "visionary and interesting." The other eleven hundred calls say that Tim Lovejoy can't do entertainment to save his dick!... That's a direct quote, sir. "

Well, i'll take the PH advice and never watch Fifth Gear again

So are we saying that if you want to be good at presenting a car show, having the first name Tim is best avoided? (thinking Westwood of course)

Rubbish. Very disapointing!

Didn't like the new format or presenter. To be honest the content is rubbish, which is a shame as I do like the other presenters!

F-, Must do better!

I thought I'd sleep on it. I once posted that I preferred Fifth Gear to the Beebs finest, please dont hold hold it against me! Fifth Gear last night was utter tripe. Worst car-related prgram I've seen since watching some moron dressing as a priest on a satellite car show. God Bless VBH but even she cant draw attention from The Worlds Most Boring Presenter Ever she was teamed up with.

Hope Top Gear isn't canned after all.

I religously watch Top Gear and Fifth Gear, but, for the first time ever i yielded my 2 hours per week monopoly of the TV after 30 minutes of Fifth Gear last night and let the missus watch Corrrie, it really was that bad cry

If ever we needed an excuse to get Hammon back and keep Top Gear going, then here it is!!

By the way, was it me or did VBH seem to be concealing a black eye under her make-up (her right eye)? Looked a bit mis-shapen and swollen.

That has to be the biggest pile of poo I have ever watched!
I tried very hard to see it through, at the first commercial break I thought "it can't gat any worse than this can it?" I lasted until the 2nd add break and that was enough for me.

I only made it as far as the first ad break. Showing a Mini and a JCB as the highlights for the show weren't enough for me to stay.

It was utter poo!!! I had to turn it off in the end as the new guy was just an irrating rat turd... Utter crap, wont be watching it again.

On the TG front, it was on the news yesterday that the new series wont start until RH is recovered so I guess there may be a bit of postponment there...
