Where do you look?
I know there are thousands of places to look but where do you draw the line on an operator you have never heard of.
Me and SWMBO are supposed to be going somewhere this weekend but haven't found anything. They either look like big blocks of flats or just a usual shithole.
Where do you suggest that will be good around this time of year. We have a budget of £500 pp which I think is reasonable?
First choice looks good at a glance, type in all your details and it brings up thousands of holidays, click one and it say's, "cannot find the date you was looking for"! So why
ing show me a holiday I can't go on??
Suggestions would be great as she (and secretly I are a little tense) as we could both do with some time off away.
Thanks PH'ers

We usually book direct after having a look at the ratings on www.tripadvisor.co.uk

Yeah, Laterooms are great - not always the best and cheapest, but when they are they are cracking. Managed to get a 5 star country hotel for £55 including breakfast a couple of times. I mean, thats £4 cheaper than a flipping Travel Lodge!!off_again said:

We had some fantastic looking offers that were really disgusting when you looked into them.
I wouldn't bother with travel agents really. They're ok for getting a rough idea, but they'll try and sell you anything and will dress it up to sound far better than it is. Real holliday maker reviews are the way to go.

yeah, thats always good to get an opinion - though bear in mind most reviews are polar (either terrific or awful reviews - very few inbetween) and reflect peoples perspectives more than the actual accomodation - though still helpful if you take every one with a pinch of salt.Depending on where you want to go, I find travelocity.com the best for US/Canada trips - you pay in $ which saves you a fortune too

For euro and more traditional holidays, try www.lastminute.com not as cheap as they once were, but you can still find bargins.
