Just maybe, maybe, maybe I can make it after all. Chances are still very slim but at least it's not zero anymore.

At the AGM today there was news concerning the booking arrangements for this year's event. Due to the £4K fx loss incurred last year by the TVRCC, they will not be handing the financial side of the bookings. Payments will have to be made direct to TVRCC Holland, although clarification is being sought as to whether they have the ability to take credit cards. The details are here:

TVRCC NL have tried to get Credit Card arrangements in the past - no luck.

The 4K loss wasn't on Zolder was it?

Afraid so - £3,625 for 2008. All foreign exchange loss from what I understand, so the club is unwilling to take that risk again. It does seem amazing that on revenue £11,418 for this event there was such a large fx loss. I'm awaiting clarification from the Chairman as to why this could not have been avoided. There were losses on other trackdays (UK) but that was down to a lack of participation.

Without having looked into it, is it straight forward to paying direct from UK bank? I presume we do not need to pay the ECU costs or similar?

The credit card did make it a little easier last time........
