Well, it would be ace for me with my arthritic left ankle. I bet it would pull our caravan brilliantly, but the fuel consumption would be a killer.

Saab's manual shifters have never been all that exciting, and the auto does have paddles, so the car can have two distinct temperaments which suits it rather well.

Auto can be made quicker for less £££....£

No clutch to upgrade & no crappy/notchy (scream at it to get 1st) 6 speed manual gear box My box feels bloody terrible, drove my mates RS4 a while back and that was silky smooth...jumped back In mine and its like driving a tractor!

When I come back to Saab in a few years I'll be getting an Auto v6 Wagon

Price paid had a 1 at the front. aero with all options except blower seats, 100k with full saab history

How do the later 5-speed autos in the 9-5 compare to the original 4-speed box? I don't like the 4-speed at all, never in the right gear and seems very thirsty.

Only had a 5 speed, always average around 30mpg and when in drive it never feels its reving too much or is in the wrong gear

Just hankering after a v8 XJR at the mo! Plan is to get the Jag for a few years then come back to Saab but get a v6 Wagon (07 onwards this time! This fibre optic audio crap has done me in!) Easier to just stump up the extra 200 road tax
