Hi all, i am about to emigrate from the Lotus community to the Saab community.

Swapped my 57 plate Lotus Elise 111R for it.Picking it up in 2 weeks due to work commitments.

Anything i need to know about Saabs as this is my first one although my mate has owned one for 3 years and loves it.

Welcome! Which engine does your Vector have? Is it new?

Don't expect it to corner like the Elise! I don't know the latest models well, but if you like to know all about your cars I suggest you register on Saab Central: http://www.saabcentral.com/index.htm and join the forum for your model.

I've got an 02 plate Aero 'vert with a Stage 3 MapTun mod (270bhp/370Nm) which was fitted recently. Mrs B has an old Saab GM900 with over 216,000 miles on it.

Someone will be along it in bit to tell you tat modern Saabs are too Genral Motors-ish and not like the ones of past. That may well be true, but you still have one of best Cabrios on the current market IMHO.
Thanks for the response.

I have bought a pre registered 57 plate with 50 miles on it. It is a 1.9 TiD Vector Sport. It has all of the usual extras that the anniversary had but with a 6 disc changer, fancy leather seats and a few other things that i cant remember.I never got the most out of my Lotus and although i love everything Lotus i just felt that i needed something more comfortable and a little more practical as i have 2 young children.

The Lotus forum on here is excellent and i hope this one is as good.

Had some good banter with the Lotus lot. In fact a salesman at a Lotus dealership emailed me today to tell me that he has a soft spot for the Saab and understood why i was changing. I thought that was nice. I hope the customer service from Saab is as good because Lotus, especially at Christopher Neil, was first class.

I liked the Lotus but i couldnt justify running two cars so decided to sell both of what i had and get something that was nice and also suitable for ferrying my young family about. The Saab fitted the bill perfectly. Im looking forward to picking it up next week, could have had it sooner but im abroad for a few days ear;y next week and didnt want to leave the Saab parked at Stanstead so for the first time in my like i have shown some patience.

I got everything i asked for when trading my cars in and didnt realise till i was talking to a mate that the new registrations come out very soon. If id have known i would have haggled harder.

I look forward to posting on here as i enjoy the forums and i always have lots of daft questions to ask as when it comes to cars and the technical stuff my knowledge is limited.

I'll take a bet with anyone that it's gone within a year and he's back in a Lotus?
