S6 rebuild question
Discussion
Jumping over from the cerbera forum . I'm going to have a look at a S6 at the weekend, it's got 22000 miles and has had a rebuild at power £4500 worth, finger followers etc, I haven't got the specifics of the rebuild yet but is there anything I should be looking out that should have been done on a low mileage one?
It's the blue one in chesire

It's completely nuts at that price, you could buy it, give it to Dom for a 4.3 conversion and it would still be cheaper than the equivalent 4.5 AJP.
I know the 4.5 is good but would you really choose one over Dom's 4.3 S6 with its power, smoothness and warranty?
Oh and for the record my 2002 S6 Cerbera is at 22k miles with no rebuild
Thanks, I don't suppose you know how much ish that could be?I know the 4.5 is good but would you really choose one over Dom's 4.3 S6 with its power, smoothness and warranty?

Plus at that price it does come with a small problem , the diff bushes have gone, maybe the top bracket also? If I bought it I would have a 3 hour drive home, I'm not sure how safe that would be?I know the 4.5 is good but would you really choose one over Dom's 4.3 S6 with its power, smoothness and warranty?

Spoke to Andy at APM and the diff bush replacement is not an expensive job, £350 worse case .

Hi Dave
The way I look at it is the car looks clean and low mileage, if it has had the engine built by Dom at power you can rest assured it will be as good as it gets, just had a 4.5 put in my T350 from Dom and he knows what he is doing, you can still drive the car with the bush gone as I doubt if it has completely come out, all you need to do is drive it sensible and change gear smoothly to save it banging about, I drove my Cerb (which I still have) half way to Le Man and back with no problem. I would just check service records and check bills and ask if the engine rebuild still has a warranty.
I see from your profile you used to Skydive no doubt it was at Headcorn, had a few jumps myself, if you do buy the car we must meet up as I,am only near Sittingbourne

Yes it was at Headcorn, I had a fantastic couple of years skydiving there!
Who knows, maybe we even on a same lift together!
Gave it all up when my children came along, hence why I bought my first cerb to compensate !!
Will defo meet up if I get the car, I'm just by Bluewater shopping centre.
Fingers crossed !!
