Do any of these cams have wifi so I can just park up outside my house and it transfer data to a PC on my network?
Yes, the Transcend Drivepro 200. It's the current Auto Express winning dashcam too. I've been using it for the past year in my 3 series. You can also view the videos live and recorded on your iphone/ipadhttp://www.amazon.co.uk/Transcend-DrivePro-Video-R...

However, to answer the question about the parking guard mount it keeps the camera running at a low power, low framerate to monitor continuously when parked. If a shock is detected, it switches to high rate and saves any events. The mount is what allows this functionality compared to the base GPS mount.
I posted some info on it a couple of pages back with a link to the manual in PDF format.
I'm thinking of upgrading my 0801 as the dusk/nighttime isn't great. Youtube has compressed this somewhat but here's a good example, also capturing a total fkwit (around 35s in)

Do Police ever look at this type of footage seriously if you send them a link?

I was moderately interested in getting a dash cam thanks to a few recent close encounters with morons which if they had turned out worse would have seen me losing out insurance wise without dash cam footage to protect me.
Didn't fancy spending a fortune so dropped £32 on Amazon for this thing:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/E-PRANCE-Novatek-Dashcamer...
Anyway, thought PH might like to see the quality of the footage, and within 2 minutes (honestly) of installing it in Tesco car park this minor interesting thing happened so I thought why not upload it and be a dash cam nazi.

Select 1080p to see the quality - YouTube has hurt it slightly, it's less blocky than this when reviewed locally.
And before anyone says, yes I know I got closer than I needed, and yes I know I should have braked earlier, and yes I know I was slightly too aggressive in not doing so, and so that being said I'm sure I'll come in for some critique anyway!

Yeah this guy is a piss boiler for sure! Judging by the number of S59s that get issued over on the SP&L forum, you would assume the police will act if you make a complaint, particularly if you have cam footage to back it up.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtoCARF9IBU

I use 3000mah battery pack from this company - http://www.ianker.com/External-Batteries/category-... - for a Drift Ghost camera on my bike it's top quality so I expect their higher capacity packs will be equally good.
I've tested the 3000mah pack on my Mini 0803 and it recorded for three hours constant so the twin USB +10000mah packs should power two cameras no problem for a days use.
Hope this helps...

Hey guys. Just installed my 0805 from JooVoo and have 2 questions. 1. The GPS thinks I'm in the English Channel where as I'm really in Cheshire! Do I need to do anything other than plug it in? And 2. The play back seems ok for a few seconds then stutters for a few then goes back to good and so on and so on. Any ideas? I'm running a Samsung 32gb EVO class 10. Do you think it's the class 10 card? Any help please.
I just hardwired an 0805 into my E39 today. Works just fine, including the GPS. Do you have a heated/sun protecting windscreen which could be stopping the GPS locking on? I suspect the video problem may be the SD card - try another to rule it out.
The only issue I have is that the video quality didn't seem quite so sharp when the light dropped (I forgot the resolution but it is the one everyone recommended earlier in the thread) - maybe I need to tweak some of the white settings. No rush to do that.
I'm now planning to fit one to the rear. I have an E39 Touring, does anyone have a good suggestion for an ignition switched live? CD changer perhaps? If so which wire? (the battery is right there in the boot but I don't want a permanent live).

Hi. I've fitted it into a E91 so no heater element and its on the clear glass next to the mirror. Also noticed that now it's hard wired to the car the radio reception has dropped off too! Strange. Will try a different card as it was the only one I had. Video quality if clear from the bits I've watched but stutters.
Finally got round to fitting my 0801 and took it for a spin. Just rendering the video now using Microsoft movie maker http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/Windows-Live/mo...
Will post link once uploaded to the 'tube.
Not a bad bit of kit the 0801, just gets annoying with the constantly flashing light at night, might have to smash the led!

That's decent footage for a modestly priced camera - detailed enough to provide evidence in the event of a confrontation. Although you might need to set the date and time, unless you really were driving around at 4am on Christmas Day!My 0805 has arrived, but I haven't fitted it yet. I ordered a hardwire kit, which turned up, but temperatures outside are deep into single figures and I'm not going to be driving the car any time soon. I've plugged it into the 12v socket just to see if it works, but for now it's still in the box.
This is my other camera in the everyday Golf:
It's a Mi-Witness, with front and rear cameras (front 1080p, rear 720p), and wired using a voltage sensor which puts the camera to sleep if the battery voltage drops below 11.8. It has a parking mode, which activates if it detects movement while the ignition is switched off.
