I bought an 0805 after cancelling an 0806 order from JooVuu. I too had the same MPH not moving and GPS put me in the English channel. I did a FirmWare update and that sorted those issues. Re the playback I have the same card and mine does it on my laptop but is ok on my PC so put it down to the computer.
How do I do a firmware update.I think that for what a dash cam costs nowadays you would have to be pretty nuts not to fit one. All you need is one incident to occur, whether accidental or deliberate, to blow your no claims out of the water and for future insurance quotes to be considerably higher than the £50 - £150 it would cost for a dash cam. And some dash cams cost less than that!
I've also noticed that since fitting a rear dash cam to my car most drivers tend to back off once they spot it instead of tailgating. I can only assume that they don't like their bullying antics to be caught on camera. I also purchased a few dash cam warning stickers from Amazon which I stuck on the rear window which have worked a treat.
Sure the video footage may work against me if I drive like a knob, but that's the whole idea.
Some of the latest generation dash cams accept monster sized SD cards (128GB and 256GB) which allow days of video footage to be recorded, and I like this idea because professional van and lorry drivers now at least have a means to prove how they were or weren't driving and at what speeds they were travelling at.
If I was a van or lorry driver I would be copying this video footage off the dash cam on a regular basis and keeping it stored for at least six months just in case a speeding/parking ticket/insurance claim appears out of the blue.
Am sorry, but driving around nowadays leaves you wide open to abuse by insurance scams, dodgy speed camera operators and petty rules and regulations, and an inexpensive dash cam seems the ideal tool to use to combat these underhand antics used by these people and organisations.
For less than a tank of petrol I regard it as money well spent.

I bought one of these from ebay for around £35 which arrived yesterday (3 weeks quicker than the delivery estimate) and so far I'm impressed, time will tell I guess.
I have the same device branded e-prance.Pros: Cheap, good picture quality in daylight.
Cons: Lots of flaring at night time from light sources, motion detection at night is very hit and miss (it just stops recording on the motorway).
I'm inclined to turn off motion detection on mine and just leave it recording all the time, but then it will fill the SD card too quickly, so not sure about that.

Many many pages here to read through so excuse the question that has probably been asked.
I've been looking at a few on amazon and they're mainly battery powered...how long does the battery last?
And for a similar price (£40-60) can I get one that is wired up to the car?
not long hour maybe, even if they have a battery most will wire in to the car so the camera starts when the engine starts. if you have to start turning them on and off the day you forget is the day something happens!I've been looking at a few on amazon and they're mainly battery powered...how long does the battery last?

I`ve been dipping in and out of this topic for ages now and may have just come to a decision as I only really wanted to spend about £50.
A Mini 0801. Just a couple of questions though.
Is there an alternative mount for the 0801, maybe something that fastens to the rear view mirror would be an option for me or would the sticky mount of the 0801 stick to the back of the rear view mirror. It might vibrate though?
Also I`m looking to buy from Amazon, is E-Prance a Chinese supplier? If so I`ll look else where.

I can't help with the mount answer, but I bought my 0805 from E-Prance and it did indeed arrive from China, in about three weeks. I haven't bothered to install it yet, because A/ It's for my S2000, which I'm not using at the moment, and B/ It's too perishing cold. This is also the reason for A/.A Mini 0801. Just a couple of questions though.

I bought a hardwire kit as well, because I also want to be able to run a Sat Nav from the 12v power outlet (it's not a fag lighter any more, is it?). Anyway. I'll get around to it asap, and post my impressions of it compared to the Mi-Witness in my other car.

You can purchase 801 etc from 'Combi-UK' on eBay - great service and camera comes from UK.A Mini 0801. Just a couple of questions though.

I purchased an E-Prance 0801 dash cam from Amazon back in September 2014 which has worked flawlessly. I recollect that delivery was very fast indeed, link is http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00IKEVSOUA Mini 0801. Just a couple of questions though.

As regards mounting the 0801, there are various mounts available, though the most compact one to use is the supplied sticky mount, these mounts can be purchased separately if you have more than one car. I wouldn't recommend sticking it on your rear view mirror due to the increase in vibration.
On a different subject, I've been looking at the Mobius video camera and just wonder if anyone on here can recommend a UK seller. The ebay seller recommended by Techmoan is based in China who quotes a very long delivery time. Also, has anyone purchased the additional kit with all the different mounts and cables included?
