Batteries have died in the 0806 and möbius
I think you can replace the möbius battery quite easily but can you in the 0806?
Is the mini 0806 still under warranty? If yes might be worth trying to get a replacement.I think you can replace the möbius battery quite easily but can you in the 0806?

I've got the Transcend Drivepro 200 fitted behind my rear view mirror, which is nice and discreet. One thing that I did not like was the chrome detail around the lens and the white printed text, so using some electrical tape and a marker pen I have "blacked out" all of these details to make it a bit more covert.
When I get my estate car in the next few weeks I am going to get another to fit as a rear facing camera, and I think I will stick with the 200 as the 220 does have GPS, but the lens is not as wide angled.
Does anyone know if I can use a bigger memory card than the supplied 16gb? Will a better card help with the painfully slow WIFI download process?

Yes thanks. That's great bit harder than the möbius but not too bad. Found this thread on Dashcam talk that may be useful:

Long out of warranty I bought it as soon as the 06 came out.
I need a new one for the rear of my new car ( either it's too slow or red is a magnet for numpties) Probably get a möbius if I can figur out how to get power there.

You can certainly use a 32gb in the 200 but mine didn't like the 64gb. I bought a 220 on Black Friday and that happily accepts a 64gb card and I don't actually notice the slightly narrower field of visionWhen I get my estate car in the next few weeks I am going to get another to fit as a rear facing camera, and I think I will stick with the 200 as the 220 does have GPS, but the lens is not as wide angled.

Just bought a Nextbase 312GW and am super impressed by it. Has anyone tried the Halfords fitting service? I'd love to hardwire it in, but don't really know what I'm doing!
For the font it's incredibly easy. I'm talking minutes easy. Have not checked your camera but it's usually as bellowAll you need
something called add a circuit.
A 12v to 5 volt converter
3 meter micro or mini usb lead whatever you camera takes.
Feed long cable around roof. Usually just pushes in then depending on car I ran mine straight accros and down the door rubber or you can go down along the windscreen.
In my car fuse box is right by your right knee so cable came out there and straight into box. Plug in add a circuit to a fuse that is live when ignition is on. Earth to any screw that goes into metal loosen screw loop wire around tighten screw
Connect 12v output from that to 12/5v converter plug in usb lead tidy with cable ties done.
Took me about 15 minutes max for this new car.
Have a look on YouTube
Thanks for that. So if you hardwire it in, will you literally just see a wire from the camera up to the roof lining and that's it? My OCD can't handle a wire on display anywhere in the car. Wish they were battery-powered. Suppose you could plug a portable power bank in, but then there's the problem of where to put that! Why can't cars come with built-in dash cams?

Depends on the car but pretty much yes. That's all you can see on mine .I would have thought it won't be long now until they start as an option. They could easily built them into mirrors.

Because not everyone is a paranoid or as bad a driver as you are.CoolC said:
Techmoan's latest favourite looks like a good little unit. Just a shame about the silly purple colour.
Looks very, very good. Worth watching his reviewhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OPrYBWCAYc

Thanks for your help. I've ordered the Nextbase hardwire kit, so will have a go at fitting it once it arrives. Much appreciated.
Have a look at these obviously get the right size for your cars fuse. These make everything a lot easier, https://www.amazon.co.uk/Universal-Circuit-Blade-H...

The way to test it is that it doesn't work with the fuse out
If it's in wrong it will work without a fuse

As seems the case with all of these chinese cameras there is always some sort of issue or other.
I had the perception that to be able to easily read number plates etc an increase in frame rate would be a major contributor in clarity, but that DDpai is recording 1440p at only 25fps, so maybe bitrate is more important ?
Mobius 2 just came out as well, doesn't appear to be a huge upgrade to be honest, but will apparently do 60fps @ 1080p.

Mobius is a bare bones camera, if it has power it will record, thats about it. No GPS, no bells and whistles etc. It does work quite well though, you don't get gaps or overlaps between files as some cameras do, the image quality is pretty good on the original (not sure about the new one). Its also priced well below the competition and from I have read they are pretty reliable, not the case with all cameras (mini 806 has a pretty poor record for example).
You need to decide if you want/need all the bells and whistles and of course what budget you have.
