Radar speed detector advice please
Discussion
Don't radar guns (and I'd guess lasers) use the Doppler/Red Shift principle to determine the speed of the vehicle in question?
I'd guess jammers and the like work by simply transmitting a reasonably high powered signal (doesn't matter what) at roughly the detector gun's operating frequency, thus raising the noise floor so high it overwhelms the reflected signal from the radar gun. Bit like shining a torch in your eyes makes it difficult to see what's going on behind it. Apparently headlamps on main beam make it more difficult to get an accurate reading with a laser gun.
I daresay it's possible to build a system that transmits a frequency that corresponds with the desired speed (although I wouldn't risk it), but it'd also be easy for the detector makers to either encrypt their signals, or have them heavily filtered.

the ones that i sell sends back to the lassr gun or cam wat ever speed you set it to first so if your on a motorway you set it to 7o if your on a 60 limt you set it to 60
and no i will not tell you wat make it is it took me 2 years to find this if you want one part with your cash to me and ill get you one
I would love to know how it does that.and no i will not tell you wat make it is it took me 2 years to find this if you want one part with your cash to me and ill get you one
Previously I have posted about doing this with radar. There was a device back in the mid 1970's. It transmitted a signal on a slightly different frequency to the radar gun. The radar works on doppler shift and the differece in frequency returned from the target was used to calculate the speed. The jammers transmition frequency was the same as the frequency the radar expected back from a car at 55mph. It was an American device.
I didn't realise laser used doppler too, I thought it was time based. Still thats only what I read.
If your number plate suppliers can do silver on black suitable for rear illumination plates as used on TVR let me know. A few of us want them, but we will want to see a sample first.

Not sure they do, I'd suspect they use the Red Shift principle, as they use light rather than RF as their transmission medium. To all intents and purposes it's the same difference. They may not use either of the above of course.
