TomTomOne XL vs Garmin Nuvi 255
Discussion
Hopefully a simple one to answer. I'm looking to buy my first Sat Nav for the car after many years of being perfectly happy with maps. I've searched this forum and also google but can't find a simple one to one comparison of the two choices below i.e. Which is better to buy?
My requirements:
- Easy to use
- UK Maps, and also N.Europe Maps (for holidays)
- Reliable mapping with readily available updates
- Wide screen
- Traffic updates (FREE via TMC cable - don't want to pay a subscription)
- I'll need a carry case, car charger and USB cable (if needed) for updates
I have narrowed it down to two choices:
1) Garmin Nuvi 255WT - European Mapping, Widescreen, Built-in Traffic £129.99 from Amazon. - Would need to buy carry case but charger included. No USB cable mentioned.
2) TomTom ONE XL + Case + Traffic + European Maps £129.99 from Amazon. - Charger, USB cable and case included.
Which one should I buy?
Any advice or views on the two systems would be most appreciated.
Many thanks.
