Today my Irish S90 D5 R-Design that Jet were knocking out recently with the extra twirly bits was delivered and I am very happy! Bargain!

However after working out how to bluetooth tether my phone's data connection, which seemed to work well, I was unable to download a single app? Not that there's many but I would like Spotify. Every one I tried almost immediately said could not install and report had been sent or something? I tried it via my phones mobile data and my home broadband both with the same result? Any ideas?

The other thing is that mine is missing the modem and therefore VOC and should have had it, I'm assuming it's the broker I complain to? I'm not massively fussed in all honesty but it should be there.

Love the car, the D5 engine is just a peach in my one day experience!
Let me know how you get on with Jet and the missing Volvo on Call. I’ll not be happy if anything other than the flappy paddles are missing. Returned the posted paperwork today.

Has yours got the 21 inch wheels? Only worry for me is how these ride. Can test out a car with 20 but no UK cars have the 21. Worried ride will be too hard. Be keen to know how yours is if you have the 21 inch wheel.

Hopefully the app issue could be sorted by a software update at the dealer?

Annoying about the VOC as it was only supposed to be the flappy paddles missing, I was hoping to have the remote start ability for the frosty months,.

discount on a discounted price do you think?

Any cosmetic issues as some leasers from a previous batch appear to have some dings/swirls in the paint though I think they had been in storage for a while.

Glad I went for the D5 smile
Yes, but given this batch maybe they won't all be like this? Not sure if it can be retrofitted but I have whacked in an email to Ben at Jet Complaints and see what transpires, if any others are the same I guess you should all do the same and we can compare notes? I will go direct to Volvo UK in a day or two and get their comments, including the app download issue. No cosmetic issues on mine of note, tiny blemish in the paint on the drivers side which I still cannot find again since I first saw it and a tiny mark on the back bumper which wouldn't properly appear in a pic when I took it. And i'm very thorough and fussy about such stuff but a polish sorts them. And my car is black and shows everything!

The car (and I'm assuming they all are given they were in stock at MY change) is a MY18 so no front sensors (the bumper has the mouldings annoying so I was excited for a while but if I have the sensors they don't work! But as I put in a previous post I would have been amazed if they weren't MY18 cars.

Will do, as I say if it's a common theme we will see what they will do. It's clearly Volvo UK not getting the spec right but it's Jet to sort with them I guess?

Replied direct, mine are the standard 18's and I've never tried the 21's. Look lovely though!

TBF, I love the car. The keyless and the bendy headlights are a revelation and the quad zone won't ever really get used probably! Great to drive, I don't think you can do better for the money as an overall package.

All very interesting, us all updated.

Still waiting on my D5, jet were waiting for the 68 plates but I need the car ASAP so have gone for an 18 to speed up the process.

I’ve gone for 21s and I don’t expect them to be too bad, however I’m coming from a GTD golf where you wince over potholes!

If the 21s are too bad I will just buy some second hand 18s as the tyres are about 250 per corner so it will be cheaper to source new wheels. I assume swapping back to 18s won’t cause any issues??

It was my understanding all the Jet vehicles were registered in August and therefore 18 plate?

Yes, I was told that too, Volvo UK needed them delivered by 31st Aug. Not a problem for me as my XF had already gone back and I needed a rush job

Ah ok, I was down for 68 plate and September delivery. With finance docs being issued in September.

Good to hear! What brand tyre did it come with? Also how are you finding the gearbox - is it as slow / dimwittted as people are complaining?

This Volvo on call missing has got me slightly worried so I've done some digging on the differences between the standard Irish R-Design spec and the standard UK R-Design spec (Jet told me they were Northern Irish spec rather than Irish spec BTW). The below is based on not them not being itemised on the IE or UK spec sheets in the Builder on the Volvo websites.

Transmission/Steering/Suspension
Pilot Assist (IE only)
Gear shift paddles (UK only)

Exterior
Power Operated Boot Lid (UK only)
Front park assist (UK only)
Day running lights (UK only)

Interior
Pollen filter (UK only)
Net Pocket in Cargo Area (UK only)
12V Socket in boot (UK only)

Seating/Upholstry/Trim
Heated front seats (UK only)
Tailored Instrument Panel and Door Tops (UK only)

Safety & Security
Key Integrated Remote Central Locking including Fuel Flap with Deadlocking System and Auto Open/Close Power Windows (not itemised on UK spec but I'm pretty sure this is standard for both)
Electronic Brake Distribution (IE only)
Front Collision Warning (IE only)
parking Ticket Holder (IE only)
Seatbelt Reminder & Pretentioners (All Seats) (UK only)
Intelligent Driver Information System (IDIS) (UK only)
Lane Keeping Aid (UK only)

Audio & Communication
European Mapping (IE only)
Volvo on call (UK only)

Pretty sure the key is standard on both but the heated front seats, IDIS, lane keeping aid and Volvo on call all missing would be pretty crap. Davey have you noticed any of these missing too?

The car came with Michelin Primacy 3's. Seem to suit the car, never had them before but I know different tyres work better with different cars. I am certainly not finding the gearbox dimwitted at all. However I came out of a 2015 XF 2.2 diesel and that was utter rubbish, the Volvo is MUCH punchier, through all the revs and especially off the mark

Yes. Turns out up to model year 19 VOC was only standard on Inscription or anything of the Pro variants, as evidenced in this pdf (file:///C:/Users/User1/Downloads/VCUK_MY18_Comparison_Sheet_V1.pdf). So if you've ordered a Pro variant or an Inscription it should have it unless it's been specifically excluded on the list you got (I think it was for the Momentum Pro's they had from memory?)

Mine does have Pilot Assist but no paddles, as expected. Mine has DRL and powered boot (keyless and was an option) but not Front Park Assist and because this was only standard from MY19, which I already knew (it does have the mouldings for the sensors though!). I dunno if it has European maps and it doesn't have VOC, as I explained above this is standard on MY19 on unless you have ordered a Pro variant or an Inscription model. Lane Keeping I dunno as I live on the Isle of Wight and no motorways here! But the Pilot Assist starts juddering the steering wheel if you stray near the centre line. I certainly have heated front seats.

The ONLY thing it's 'missing' from what I expected was the VOC but I should have realised that as I knew it was a MY18 car and I would have still snapped their hand off, utter bargain. The ACC is amazing, especially in traffic, not the natural environment for cruise control!

Plus I got the colour combo I wanted so I can't honestly feel disappointed in anyway for my £324 a month. Just need to find out why I can't download any apps? It is connected to the internet (Bluetooth connection on my phone works really well).

Big thumbs up from me, three days in and I'm loving it plus it looks stunning.

As I understand it, that gearbox in the XF is the really nice ZF 8 speed gearbox.....it just happens to be a poor match with that engine. It works extremely well with the 6 cyl engines from JLR but I've heard quite a few reports of the 2.2L and the ZF not being a very nice pairing. Its one thing that put me off the Jag's (with 6 cylinder versions being overpriced and not great value IMO) as other than that, I really like the XF.

Yep, I didn't even look for another Jag (test drove a XE and hated it, felt nasty inside and rubbish to drive). The XF looked amazing (I had the R-Sport Black Edition) but off the line it was pathetic to the point you had to be careful driving onto roundabouts. Plus the start/stop kept kicking in through EVERY manoeuvre possible so any sort of quickish three point turn became an impossible nightmare. Don't even get me started on the washer jets a third way up the wipers and therefore smearing the bottom third of the screen unless you were not moving as the water didn't go down the blade! So annoying! Sorry for the ranty digression.

So you’re right none of these MY18 S90s have VO which is fair enough. Just been told however mine doesn’t have the rear camera either (mistake by Volvo). Deliberating changing to one of the Inscriptions....... decisions.

Thanks Davey Blueeyes. Our current A6 came with Primacys - not a bad tyre tbh.

I can’t believe the Irish cars won’t have a pollen filter... Front parking sensors would be handy mind you.

I do think the rear camera is worth it, it's tricky judging the back with just the sensors (they are a bit slow but not too bad tbh) and the rear camera is a real piece of work! Amazing compared to the one I had on the XF. I had front sensors on the Jag but not missing them so far, it's much easier to judge the front and I'm a rear in parker anyway.

As I said, I wasn't expecting front sensors and the VOC was my own fault. Still can't believe you can pick up a car of this quality for that money. Having spent a few days in it now it really is the nicest interior I've ever sat in. The black leather with the white stitching and nubuck (still looks like alcantara to me!) is really, really nice.

Honestly, I can't believe anyone would be unhappy with the overall deal and package. But I'm coming from a XF with
low XF expectations!

Sent my finance docs off today.
Wasn't bothered about the voc until I read more of what it can do, and thought yes that sounds good. Shame it's not got it but not a deal breaker.
Would have missed the heated seats more so glad to see they are included. So adaptive cruise control and pilot assist is definatly on these cars? Can't wait to try that out!
I've gone for the bursting blue, reminds me of classic m5 and looks so good in the flesh.

I think the best current deals are 18 months from Santander.

I’m really torn. Definitely wanted the rear camera but I love the R-Design looks especially with the 21s. However I think I’m tempted by the Onyx Black Inscription with Amber interior. Plus it’s got the camera amongst a few other nice to haves. I’m going to be flipping a coin at this rate!
