I’m really torn. Definitely wanted the rear camera but I love the R-Design looks especially with the 21s. However I think I’m tempted by the Onyx Black Inscription with Amber interior. Plus it’s got the camera amongst a few other nice to haves. I’m going to be flipping a coin at this rate!
When my local dealer was pulling a quote based on an 18 car they were happy to retro fit the rear camera for not silly money. Might be worth seeing if you can get it that way? Im much happier using the camera than the sensors as they do feel a little slow to react.

Nice drive, was looking at Tiguans, Karoqs etc and ended up chasing the deals into a V90. Must admit I'm very happy, it's a nice place to be and I'm using it more than the Golf Gti which my wife prefers anyway! Must be getting old.
R-design has the extendible thigh cushion and full digi dash over (MY2018) momentum T4 I got although did get winterpack.

The digital dash is brilliant and you have four options how it looks, quite like the 'Performance' setting. I found the thigh support today, makes unbelievably comfortable seats even more comfortableR-design has the extendible thigh cushion and full digi dash over (MY2018) momentum T4 I got although did get winterpack.

How does this compare

Good morning all,
well I have had my V90 D4 R design in ONYX black for a couple of months now but have only just completed a 500 mile round trip journey to Cornwall and back absolutely fully loaded with 4 adults and luggage.
A fantastic, comfortable, stable car for long journeys imo. I agree about previous comments about the autobox being somewhat sluggish, particularly at take off from roundabouts, and it is certainly not a "driver's car" but I have never covered such a distance before and felt so calm and relaxed when I arrived at the destination !
I have to say that, as something of a luddite, I can do without the Lane Assist, Park Assist etc gizmos but as an economical ( I achieved ~ 43 mpg on this journey including probably 50 miles up and down narrow Cornish lanes), safe, quiet mile muncher I am very impressed.
The Sat Nav, again as mentioned by others, is pretty crap. I don't trust it and I use Waze as an alternative.
It cannot find my house and I am 1 mile from Junction 5 M3 so not exactly remote !
My wife is terrified of it and I am due to accompany her for her first test drive in it later this week.
The sound system is fantastic as far as I am concerned but I am no expert.
For the cost of £2000 plus 23 x £209 I am delighted.
Thanks again to Soupdragon for the heads up on this deal.
Best wishes

Is anyone able to walk me through or point me in the right direction to set up a SIM card in the car and the benefits of it? I have just signed up for the free 3 SIM card, however I don’t even know where it goes!
My free 3 SIM has arrived too. I believe it’s somewhere under the spare wheel in the boot on the V90, but a cursory inspection hasn’t revealed the location so I’ll look a bit harder this weekend. If anyone has a photo I’d be grateful!Good morning all,

Re my deal above it was from Volvo Sunderland, a very helpful lady called Karen Allan, so no broker fees and it was for 8k miles pa with 0-5000 excess mileage at 7.5p per mile I believe.

If you have a modem in the car with a SIM card holder, I know where it is in the S90. If you lift the boot floor panel to reveal the spare tyre it's towards the back of the boot space. On the drivers side you will see a rectangle shaped black box with lots of wires coming out of it, if you have the modem (for Volvo on Call) will be a smaller box to the left of that about the size of a pack of cards. The SIM card holder slides out of that.It must be easier to drop the back seats to access it rather than climb in the boot. You do not have to remove the spare wheel! That's on a S90, anyway

Cheers for this. I can see the box, but can’t see anywhere to remove/insert a sim. How would I know if the car has on call? Would I have had to spec it?It must be easier to drop the back seats to access it rather than climb in the boot. You do not have to remove the spare wheel! That's on a S90, anyway

It's standard on MY19 cars but MY18 cars it was only standard on Inscriptions and any of the Pro variants. Mine is a MY18 R-Design D5 is it doesn't have it as standard. If you see two boxes (a larger one with a smaller one to the left of it) you have it, if you only have one larger rectangular black box, you don't (as is my understanding?)
