Bought 6 years ago with 106k on the clock, one private owner with full proper Volvo history for a bit if fun....it's still with us, now showing 183k. I gather it is one of 8 remaining Panama Yellow S40 T4 SE Sport still surviving in the UK. Only 346 Panama Yellow T4s were ever UK registered according to the owners club.
Still has its original windscreen and clutch, and still has its original Volvo exhaust!
Apart from oil changes etc. and belt / pulley changes it pulls like a train. Believed to be chipped but not confirmed but performance wise it is far more savage than a standard T4 and never runs out of puff. I love it to bits just for the fact it's so understated and gets some very surprised looks from the Evo / Scooby / Type R brigade.
Bung some winter tyres on and in the snow it's unstoppable. Superb car. Family friendly and mad enough to put a smile on my face every time I drive it.
Yes I clean the back box..... I know.... I know....

Heres my very early D5 registered Sepetember 2001, originally a Volvo UK car (lots on the OY plate are). It is in S trim but has most of the extras to make it not far off an SE. Originally I wasn't too keen on the colour but in the sun the metal flakes in the paint look great.
Standard except the refurbed wheels in anthracite, I am seriously considering a Shark Performance remap though to take it upto 205bhp! Anyone any experience with one on the Euro 3 D5s?

Well I'm now the proud owner of this 2004 V70 D5 SE

High miles and short MOT but reflected in the price I think. Hopefully the suspension knock is drop links but what's the worst case? Wishbones?
Does this one have the facelift interior?
Can't wait to pick it up.

If the knock happens when coming on and off the power, it'll be the hub bolts - just remove the center cap on the front wheels and tighten the bolt underneath. Common problem on P2 cars.http://bit.ly/14JFh9f sorry not great at linking pictures directly.

If it knocks when turning then it'll be the droplinks.
Knackered wishbone bushes are usually accompanied by wooly steering, knocks over rough ground and weird tyre wear. That's where powerflex bushes come in handy.

Nice rims Garrett similar to mine in colour.
I clocked 179k in Optimus this morning! Almost time for some TLC.
Cheers! Yours looks good in black but I wasn't sure if the rims were darker than OEM. The 'Tethys' are good looking wheels, and definitely suit darker shades. I clocked 179k in Optimus this morning! Almost time for some TLC.
Inman999 - that is defo a 163bhp, I wouldn't get too hung up on it, a lot of people rate it as the better version. Still irritating that the seller doesn't actually know what he is selling though! They return better MPG for a start and no DPF to go wrong either.
Mine had the fault with clonking on and off the power, ended up killing a drive shaft as I didn't realize what it was until it was too late! If you change the drop links get Meyle HD ones or OEM Volvo. I put cheapies on and 30k later they're knackered again, about to replace them with Meyle ones this time, along with a new gearbox torque mount. (Have a look in my garage and see the blog on a run down of most expenses).
I'm also seriously considering a remap from Shark Performance, anyone any experience with the D5? I know they have a V50 demo that sounds ace. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fB_uwP-bIOE&fea...

My new and first proper car. I had a mk4 golf previous to this in Ireland when i had my provisional licence but i don't really count that as a 'proper' car. It was er... crap.
Anyway, here it is. Its got the 2.0T engine as the T5 was too much to insure . I paid just below £3k for it. I think thats a solid deal for a 85,000 mile car that at least seems to be in good nick. Now i just need to get the hand controls fitted so i can drive the damn thing!

Nice car! Another Oxford registered Volvo (plate starts with O), it wasn't first registered to Volvo UK was it? Mine is 'OY' and the first registerd keeper was Volvo UK and if you are sad enough to notice you will see quite a few Volvos around with OE, OY etc at the start of the plates. Volvo Uk are (or were?) based in Didcot so a fair amount of these cars probably belonged to staff there perhaps.

Mines OW 05 and was a Volvo Management car with plenty of options fitted, seems that most of the Volvo sales in 05 were staff!Gassing Station | Volvo & Polestar | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
