Picked this up during the week, a C70 T5 GT auto. Wanted something fast and comfy, saw this for under a grand only three miles away, so why not?

Thus far, the good points:

Electric everything, and it all works
Lovely engine with plenty of straight line speed and very little turbo lag
Very smooth gearbox
Comfy
Heated seats
Great stereo, although it keeps spitting out my cassette MP3 adaptor
Everyone who has seen it so far loves it, whether they're interested in cars or not

Not so good:

Fuel consumption, especially as you want to put your foot down at every opportunity
Little in the way of steering feel, but I never expected it to handle like a MX5
Turning circle and massive doors make it a pain in the work car park
Not my first colour choice (says green on the V5 but sure looks grey to me?)
Engine note is muted compared to the Focus ST

Overall, I love it

My beloved 854 t5 (manual) in a bit of a smash recently but being fully repaired and should be as good as new when finished! Well that's the plan anyway

Optimus went into the quacks this morning with the ABS and STC service lights on frown hopefully just a knackered ABS ring.

Been flashing on and off the for the last few weeks but had enough of it keep cutting the cruise out on the motorway.

EDIT: Turned out to be 2 rather corroded ABS rings.

Don't need a RIP kit but the I/C to throttle pipe needed some work...

And some long-awaited new plates...

Kinda a long and very sad story, but this V40 D2 R-Design is now mine. Only done a few hundred miles so far, but very impressed! Never dreamed I'd own a new car and still getting my head round it.
