The Volvo S90/V90 lease thread
Discussion
Servicing question again! My V90 T4 is due its 2 year service. I'm on a 3 year lease. Local Volvo dealer quote £480(!) but my local Indy can do it for around £200 using Volvo parts.
The only thing they can't do is update the digital service record. They will provide the invoice and written confirmation the work has been carried out using genuine parts.
Has anyone done it this way?

Mine came up as £265 for 2nd year service (V90CC), that was just idle curiosity as I'd just got rid (only done 12k miles).

i have a v60 not a v90 through volvo financial services and the lease specifically states that the service must be carried out at an authorised Volvo dealership The only thing they can't do is update the digital service record. They will provide the invoice and written confirmation the work has been carried out using genuine parts.

I may have asked this before but has anyone negotiated buying their car outright at the end of the Santander lease?
Apparently mine is Pre-sold! so that won't be happening here.Off topic, I've ordered a Leon Xcellence with the 1.4 eTSI engine to replace it.
2 weeks before I get it we are moving out of our house - with power in the garage - having sold it, and are moving in to the other half's second floor flat with 0 ways of charging it overnight as the parking space is 20m across the car park..

In case it's of interest to anyone using Santander123 to lease a Volvo, having previously been told I could only request a 28 day extension, they're now offering 6mth informal extensions on same terms inc pro-rata mileage.
Handy as my new lease delivery has just slipped from Sept > December...
Anyone else got a new V90 lease ordered on here? My delivery date has just slipped *again* to mid/end Jan. Am going to hand current one back just before Xmas to swerve the second service. We can manage without it for a couple of months. I'm not sure how much I believe the new date though...Handy as my new lease delivery has just slipped from Sept > December...
A reminder to everyone to shop around for that 2nd service if you’ve extended the lease.
I was expecting £500 which in itself is obscene, but my local dealership wanted £615!
A bit of phoning around and got £267 from a main dealer about 20 mins further away. A crazy difference for the same thing.

Bugger. My S90 goes back on Friday and the rear brakes started grinding at the weekend.
Hope it’s just the pads so have bought online to fit myself, then found out there’s some parking brake extra shenanigans plus odd sized Allen keys and things, plus it’s cold and wet and I no longer have a drive or garage so have booked it in with my local Volvo servicing agent to do them.
On the plus side, I’m feeling less guilty about the three part worns that have gone on in the last 6 months.
Won’t miss the poor town economy, general unwieldiness, car play missing, rubbish software, not having a hatchback in the household ( although I got an IKEA sofa in it after taking it out of the packaging at the shop), and average sound system.
Will miss the effortless mile munching ability, superb seats, and cars moving out of my way on the motorway
Update. New discs and Pads, Amazon order of Borg and Beck pads were wrong size.
£430 and I've used them for 20 miles - 10 of which were travelling back from the dealer!
Inspector has just been, picked a dent on the passenger sill ( looks like someone has put a foot or knee on it) and bird poo etchings on the bonnet.
Inspector said that I'll just dispute it for you, and you can go from there!
Missed another couple of hunderd's worth of stuff, so not that bothered.

With everything as it is now it's time to appreciate how much of a bargain these were.
I was £273/month for 24 months, incredible value at the time (late 2018) and out of this world in hindsight.
Very good car but I don't really miss it other than the technology- adaptive cruise, sat nav display in front of you etc. were brilliant. Felt a bit 'white goods' rather than proper barge.

Yes indeed. I had a V60 for about that much with Santander for a couple of years then on the cusp of the first lockdown picked up a S90 for 3+23 @ £274, so about £300 a month in reality; recently managed to renew it for £270 for a third year... so it's working out pretty good value.I was £273/month for 24 months, incredible value at the time (late 2018) and out of this world in hindsight.

Hate to think what lies ahead in March 2023...
Lease deals are currently double what I'm paying. Volvo website is saying new orders are 12-18 months lead time.
I'll probably go the second hand route and PCP one for a couple of years as you'd expect there are quite a few ex-lease cars with low miles available.
While the engine of mine (T4) sounds like a diesel and isn't brilliant on MPG I do enjoy the Volvo as an alternative to the German marques.

Unreal in stock find at the time in early 2019. Moving to VWFS now with a Skoda Octavia iV. All of the new quotes with Volvo were £400+ without maintenance and losing a bunch of spec (heated seats, adaptive cruise etc.) as the new model designations have much lower standard equipment than the base T4 Momentum I'm currently in.
I'll need a stop gap car for in between the Volvo and Skoda, probably get something silly for a few months.
My Santander lease says it's a £120 charge for missing a service.
The service light will probably be on when it gets collected next month. It'll be due but technically not missed.
Local Volvo dealer quotes £560 for the two year service.
Thoughts? Tempted to do nothing, hand the car back and see what happens.

Thread update for anyone who had one of the T5 CCs in 2019.
The one I had has just come up for sale again
Previously Seen Adverts
We have seen this registration advertised with the following details:
Date Seen 12 June 2022
Price £28,495
Mileage 24,695 miles
Date Seen 10 February 2021
Price £21,988
Mileage 12,753 miles
So 12,000 miles more and twice the age, up for a third more!
I believe the invoice price originally was to far off this price.

Arrange to be handed back a week before the 2 year point, that is what I did.The service light will probably be on when it gets collected next month. It'll be due but technically not missed.
