Took delivery of my S60 SE Lux Nav this morning - it's lovely!
It's very quiet inside and the amount of tech you get is pretty impressive.
I went for the Lux version as I wanted the Xenon lights - tad disappointed they don't come with high beam Xenons as standard - guess that's just with high beam assist.
I'm also pleased I went for the auto - proper motorway cruiser (even if it's a petrol!)
That’s the spec I would have wanted, would struggle to go back to halogen headlights now. However when I enquired the lux version pushed the price over what I was trying to pay. It's very quiet inside and the amount of tech you get is pretty impressive.

Keep wondering though if I made a mistake as I’ve not found anything remotely similar for that price. Assume these have all gone now though.
The auto box is nice, seems very responsive! So far, really enjoying the car!
I went for the Lux pack as I wanted to have the Xenon Lights, for only a little extra I could get all of the extras that come with the Lux pack.
I do 20k a year so my price was higher than the standard deals going around but I think it's worth it at the moment. Ask me again in 12 months!

Mines is the same Osimium Grey as Simon2001's, though a manual SE Nav.
I've been snowed in between Wednesday (delivery day!) and Monday, so have barely driven it. I am going from a 10 year old supermini, so it's certainly a big change!
My thoughts:
Good:
- it's very, very comfy - though it is a Volvo, so that's expected
- radio/infotainment quite logically laid out. The buttons may be a flashback to the Nokia phones from the 90s, but you get the hang of it. You can use both the buttons and the scroll-wheel to type for nav etc
- parking sensors are bang on, and pick up even the low kerb at my car park at home
- doors are solid, but light to open/close
- I like the eco-score on the dashboard
- It's fast for such a big car
- Relaxed driving position
- Seems well built, no obvious vibrations/noises/design issues
- It's certainly changed my view on Volvo's - they are no longer boxy old estates that geography teachers drive
Bad:
- boot is small (as per reviews), and the opening is rather oddly shaped
- clutch has a very long travel and will take some getting used to. It's also slow to return, as if it's dampered - not sure if this is normal, a Volvo thing or just my car? Old car's clutch had a high biting point and short throw, so not sure if it's just my muscle memory, and I'm a short guy (with oddly big feet) so I may not be oddly proportioned
- electronic handbrake is in a silly position, but it's something you'd get used to quite quickly. Should probably have a sticker saying which direction to activate etc
Other than that, it's a cracking deal - especially considering it would barely get you a Fiesta!

I picked mine up on Sunday from the dealer and drove it home 190 miles.
It is very comfortable and feels very solid and definitely cocooned from the awful weather I was driving home in. It is built like a tank coming from a Audi 1.4 TFSI!
Engine is very responsive and definitely does not have the turbo lag of the Audi. It has noticeably more power and does not require constant changing of gears which the Audi needed to stay in the right rev range, although I got used to driving the Audi and had no problem with it.
The gear lever on the manual version is in a bit of a strange position as is the electronic parking break as previously said but sure I will get used to it quickly. I also agree about the clutch having a dampened feel - The last part of the release has a different feel to it but again, will quickly get used to that.
All in all I'm very pleased and it feels like the sort of car you can just jump in after a long day's work & it'll get you home in total comfort with no fuss. I actually think I prefer it to the Audi already and I've only had it a few days. Should be a greater chance of getting let out at junctions too
As for fuel economy, mine is showing an average of 36.8 mpg at the moment after about 350 miles. I reckon it will probably average high 30's once it has bedded in a bit. The A4 averaged 40.4 MPG over 20K miles so am happy to get a bit less than that for the additional power the Volvo has.
All in all pleasantly surprised and a bargain for the price!

Forgot to say magic blue metallic is a very nice colour but gets dirty very quickly! That said, I was driving through snow and rain to get home. Collected ours. Fair bit of snow here so won't be taking pics in this freezin' weather for the next couple of days.
It's a lovely car. Seats are quite comfy with a very relaxing driving position. Can't really add much from what's been said by the posters above but I will add 2 points:
- with it being an outgoing model that has been in production for a few years, I was expecting the nav/entertainment system to be a bit dated i.e. slow responses to commands, poor screen resolution etc. But I have to say it's much better than I was expecting. The nav also works well with a good map layout and clear verbal directions. I usually opt for Google Maps/Waze even if my car has built-in nav, but I won't be with this nav system. The Volvo nav system isn't as good compared to Google/Waze, but it certainly beats the likes of the Skoda/VW/Audi nav systems imo.
- there were several features of the car I was aware of before purchasing (having gone on Volvo's car configurator), but 2 extra things came as a pleasant surprise when collecting the car. Firstly, the S60 has auto folding mirrors when locking the car - I had no idea about this! Am I/Was I the only one not to know this?! Secondly, it has something called City Safety i.e. the car will auto brake if it detects an emergency before you do - not sure up to what speed this operates, dealership seemed to think it was up to 30mph.
All-in-all - one of the best value PCH cars we've ever had.

Copied and pasted from the lease deal thread for anyone who's interested:
Collected our Volvo S60 following the cheap deals in Jan - so cheers to the OP for that. biggrin
The guy I was dealing with has said he has one in stock based on the same price from Jan.
Car is a Volvo S60 2.0 T4 SE Nav Manual - osmium grey (I believe that's metallic) with off black leather seats.
Price is £183 per month inc VAT on a 3+23 term with 8k pa. Docs need to be signed by end of this month with collection in the 1st or 2nd week of April. Dealership is Lookers Volvo Stockport. If I recall correctly, it worked out at about 16% of RRP for those who are interested. Excess mileage is about 7p/mile for the first 5k and then 10p for anything else above (again all from memory so not 100% sure).

Good luck.

Another SE nav manual in Grey here
It replaces a c class merc so was expecting a drop in quality .. But its less than half the money.
For the same as a Polo its a great car
Infotainment controls are a generation old..lots of buttons rather than a scroll wheel, so lots of hunting for buttons...
Then I found the voice control button, simple commands but reduces the hunting for buttons on the console

Collected our Volvo S60 2.0 SE Nav T4 in Magic Blue with beige/black interior from Lookers Stockport yesterday. Excellent build quality and great to drive.
Original order was for the manual gearbox but supplied with auto box. Glad at the outcome as the auto is awesome to drive.
My wife hasn't driven an auto car before but she finds this vehicle so easy to drive.
Standard of equipment fitted is fantastic for the price!
Cheers to both Lookers and Volvo!
