Discussion
Hi all just a quick message to say i have entered the Peril in the speed trial this year its an event i have watched for years last year i decided it would be a great thing to see a volvo in so after much much work and many set backs i can say i as ready as i can be to make the event now the car is up and running again
If you have an interest in cars this is a great event to watch a wide selection of cars run No 38 looks nice

Started to finally make an air box to help the air getting into the engine nice and cold I got my bro Andy to start shaping and making it for me he likes that sort of thing.
The air box will be in alloy so brought a large sheet and started marking out what I needed :
And also started to make a v rough template for an air guide to channel the air into the intercooler better
I brought some ducting to run from the front bottom bumper grille into the air box base.
I also decided to put a bit more heat shielding under the car as the floor gets rather hot even with the exhaust wrap on the whole length
All the time all this is going on my next project is waiting for me when ever I get a gap waiting for bits to arrive for the peril I do a bit more to my Evo she has been rather neglected for a while after ten years ownership he needs some love…

Hi Chris and the EVO...you lucky bugger! you should send it over the Simon Norris of Norris Designs and let him ;take care' of it for you mate....
Chris.
I have made a few changes since the first RR but would be up to full power by now if only people that make camshafts made them correctly.
The Evo has been 360-380 hp since two years old and has not missed a beat if i want a fast car to drive i take the volvo out

Hi all had a great day at Brighton there was a fantastic range of cars and bikes of all types and ages having a go the weather was fine a bit too hot for us turbo cars !!
My first launch did not go well I have had so little time to do some decent practice
I was to busy messing around with my anti lag the first time was 15.77 rather slow !!
I waited for another run and then improved my time to 13.83 which was better but a much better time is in the car I thought I would have been having another go but in the class I was in you only do a practice and one run I really enjoyed my day but will be back again for more runs I feel a trip to Santa pod coming on to try a proper surface a few pics from the day :
I must thank all our loyal customers that made the trip down to come and support the RT team the car had lots of attention all day and I even had a TV interview from a very nice lady who loved the car as much as me I think, I must thank Andy and James for the Built by RT Mechanics sticker a very kind thought which the Peril now wears with pride :
So a great day all round I got to drive our loan car home so went from 468 hp to 170 as it was high time my bro had a decent drive the 50 odd miles back to RT HQ which he rather enjoyed The peril did not miss a beat all day even though the bonnet was up I had not one problem in my class there were 62 cars I came 15 th so was happy with that .

Time for another update :
First of all I found a funny pic I took at my last RS meet I went to
in case you don’t know who they are the tall bugger is tuning god and great friend Mr Mark Shead of MA Developments and the little man is Mr Rod Tarry high speed expert and wiring expert and another great friend .
After the fun of the Brighton speed trials I enjoyed the following week going to and from work in the Peril as my everyday car as you do !! I travelled to work on the following Saturday morning with the Q following I got to the round about on the A3 and into 2 nd gear and disaster !!!!!!!!!!
The gearbox started making the exact same noise as before in 1 st and 2nd the other gears all fine !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I made it back to work and thought about attacking the car with a bush faulty towers style a small vid for you to here the loverly noise :

So after 200 miles the brand new Volvo box is dead I had one more temporary option while the new box goes back to a gearbox company to be fully stripped to find out for sure what’s failed and find a cure !
So out it comes again !!
I had one more gearbox that I brought a few years ago another second hand unit so god knows how long it will last lets find out so far the box feels nicer and smoother than the brand new unit which is strange maybe I was just unlucky .
I did a few miles in the Peril yesterday it was not the best day to test it all out but had to get behind the wheel again I do miss driving it I also managed to start to set up my Aim dash so it shows the gear your in which I thought was a nice touch that I might as well have working I even took a small vid after the run .
