The only way to avoid the second service would be to hand the car back just over a month early to avoid the indicator coming on.
Or have the first service done a few weeks late... whistle

Not sure that would work with my dealer, he specifically stated it would need two services prior to date of handing back regardless. Unless of course I did decide to hand back early, which would have to be a full month early as pretty sure the indicator comes on 1 month prior. Personally I think I will just spread the cost over the term, still a great deal for such a car.

I’m certainly considering the service plan to spread the cost over the term having had the fixed service prices confirmed by the dealer today.
First service is £272.32, second service is £415.50, ouch!! I’d imagine this wouldn’t be much different whichever dealer you chose.
Was offered a Service plan with a £36 saving on normal cost but means it can be spread over the term, 22 payments of £32.46 interest free, service plan is usually £750.42.
The only way to avoid the second service would be to hand the car back just over a month early to avoid the indicator coming on.
what happened to the £300 or so service plan a few pages back?

Having taken my current BMW at the end of the month I have come to realise the service indicator just gives month due not a specific day. Or if I'd got it on the 1st I could hand it back "early" the day before without the light being on.

How does the Volvo one count down?

Yes, they're pretty poor.
Agreed very slow to kick in. Also I miss the sensor screen not automatically appearing when you put it in reverse as the bmw did.

I was told when I collected my V90 to get the first service done around 2-3 weeks late (the max is 30 days according to him) and then hand the car back a week early to avoid the second service. He did say though not to pay the £250+ figures they are quoting. He said you should be paying around £190 for the first service, so he's basically saying that they try it on saying £250 but can be knocked down easily!

I think it’s the chance you take if trying to avoid second service, my dealer didn’t offer any advice on how I could avoid it!
The cheap service packages a few pages back seem to exclude fleet, which I presume would include personal lease.
I’m just going to contact the few local dealers there are and see who can offer the cheapest package deal.

How do you go about negotiating it though? There aren't many dealers locally to negotiate against each other.

When my v90 was delivered, it said 335 days to service, when queried I was told i had to follow that and not a full year from delivery. Heck it was only registered on the date of delivery but that’s irrelevant. It seems they do this to make ppl cough up for 2 services.

Yes the front and rear sensor assist is an absolute joke, comes on way too late with little engagement.

The ambient lighting - only see two tiny leds on the roof that can be changed in colour, am I missing something?

I have the Savile grey D5 and it shows dirt and marks so easily. It didn’t even arrive washed so got the dealer to refund me for a wash, will get one of those premium mobile wash guys to come out to me since they’re paying. I don’t think they polished it either as no water beading.

Anyone else got a ray chapman D5
Via Neva? Arrived polished and washed?

Reading these pages ppl are saying the D4 is slightly slow in pickup, the D5 definitely sorts that out, it shoots off like a rocket even in comfort mode.

I set my ambient lights to the highest settings and purple so I could try to see them. It’s barelu been dark since mine arrived though, so I keep forgetting to look - no obvious lighting at all though laugh

Mine showed 315 days to service despite having been registered the day before delivery. Do they not reset the counter on PDI? I don’t really care; was expecting two services so it makes no difference, though I’d happily delay until 365 days if I cared. That’s in line with the requirement in the handbook.

What happens if you dont get the car serviced at day 0
Does it go into some negative time warp continuum?
(Another Brucie bonus)
Surely the service book says somthing like within 30 days?

And it’s arrived. R design D5 from Neva... but supplied by Ray Chapman motors.

Unfortunately an ape of a delivery driver. Damaged an alloy with the hooks, then reversed off too fast gouging the bottom of the front and rear bumper. Dealer collecting to rectify next week

Ceejay what deal did you get on that if you don’t mind me asking? Did the vehicle arrive polished and clean? It probably did as I made a point about them sending me a dirty car.

I told the delivery bloke to take it easy as he drops the car down, he just gave me an odd look lol

6+23. 15k per year. £330 per month.

It was clean but dusty. It had come 100 or so miles across the Pennines on the back of a truck.

Dealer reckons their transport company subbed the job out. Hopefully they’ll rectify ASAP and I get a decent loaner while the works being done. I think they’ll have to replace as it’s a deep gouge on the front. So far they’ve been very responsive.

I should hope so too! Very frustrating for you (and them!)

Mine was driven down from the NE so covered in flies etc and a few hours late, but all in one piece.

It is what is. No point in getting angry about it. I’m sure the delivery guy won’t have a job for long. His excuse was there was a slight incline as he offloaded, as if it’s my fault!! He scarpered so quick that he didn’t even take the paperwork with him...

Same as mind d5 from Neva.

Mine turned up with 2x 10cm fairly deep scratches on the rear bumper. I contemplated rejecting it but thought not worth it. The same dealer and Neva said they would pay for the repair and 're emburse me but just need the time and inclination to get it done.

I left a message with Neva but they didn’t get back to me. It’ll prob be Monday before they do. I didn’t even have chance to reject it. The delivery guy scarpered....

Otherwise pleased with it. Pilot assist will take a bit of time to gain confidence with. Trusted the Golf for active cruise, but now having steering aswell... well that’s gonna take a bit more time
