Dear All - I've just bought a 1999 T reg Volvo SE T5 manual and I'm well happy with it; got it at a demon price with full Volvo Service History and 97k on the clock. It needs a good clean inside and out, the wheels need re-furbing and rear bumper needs painting as a few scrapes but other than that it looks fantastic.

I'm new to Volvo ownership and there's a few questions I have:-

Is it possible to get a plastic tray for the boot? It's my daily car but also will be used for towing my racer and tools and I don't want to damage the boot. I would have thought it is and if so where's best to buy?
What is the best tyre pressures to use (normal and towing)? The handbook doesn't seem to list them in a format I recognise (like bar or psi!!) and the info by petrol cap is hard to read - think it says 34 all round for normal loads.
Do they all crash and bang over bumps/road undulations? Mine seems quite hard (hence the tyre pressure question too) and just wondered if normal.
I want to get a tow bar; is it best to get a dealer fitted one, one from a scrap yard or a proper after-market one?
And finally is there anything I should be aware of?

Sorry for all the questions and if anyone can recommend a forum for me where it might be better to ask the above then please point me in the right direction. Cheers!!

Hi guys, apologies for the delay in replying and thanks for the all the advice.

I've joined the T5 club (not had time to log-on though!!) and have looked at ebay for a bootliner, looks best option and I think as mine is a '99 V70 that I can use an 850 bootliner - does that sound right?

The tyre pressures when I got the car were 45 (!!) all round (from a well-respected Volvo dealer too) and the change has made a small difference but it does still bang and crash over bumps and ripples but I suppose I'll get used to that.

Other than that am really pleased with it (can't get the cruise control to work but I think that's user-error), it's quick, comfortable, not too bad on fuel (is normal unleaded the best or should I look at Super?) and when it's clean it looks really good and I'm looking forward to using it more now.

Are the front top suspension bushes worn? - Quite common on T5's - fairly cheap and easy to sort though - ask your garage to check them next time its in for a service
Thanks for that, I'll get them to check as it's due it's next service on the 28th February.
