I've got a 57 plate V70 and it's 3 year warranty expires at the end of this month, is it worth me extending it, and if so, who with? Volvo, or someone else?

Mine is the previous shape and is a D5 geartronic/auto

They were being a bit daft/stupid about the "Volvo" warranty at the dealer. So I spoke to the guy who sold me my car (at the dealership).
Anyway, it seems you now have 2 choices, the official Volvo warranty, or the approved/recommended Harratts one. Neither are actually Volvo ones, as they're both outsourced to a 3rd party warranty company.

So the Harratts one seems very good value. It's 599 quid for 3 years (they're doing a bonus 12 months at the moment...36 months for the price of 24) and covers everything apart from general consumables, bodywork, fuel tank and wiring.
The claim limit is upto the value of the cost of the car new...eg. If the car was 25K new, I can claim upto 25K over the 3 years.

The warranty is for the car, not me, so if I sell it, the warranty goes with the car, although it's void if I trade in. And as long as I get the car serviced regularly by a VAT registered garage using Volvo parts then it's fine.

It seems like a really good deal, but I just wanted to check I'm not missing anything, as I've not bought an extended warranty before, so just thought I'd see what you guys thought.

?? seems odd, suppose for example a wire was kinked / caught in the build, aand after x years fatigues into a break. One could spend a fortune tracking that, which is maybe why it's excluded, meantime somebody has tried this back box, that black box, would the fact it was a wiring fault exclude a claim? I don't know tbh just musing.

Agreed, and you appear not to be restricted to Harratts in servicing and repairs etc.
I thought the wiring thing was odd too...but didn't know if it was normal?!

And yes it's not restricted to Harratts. Although they said they will always price match any other dealer for servicing.
