Mines always been OK when I've gone for "sold by Amazon".

Don't risk marketplace sellers, I'd say.
Same here. I’ve had a couple of things from Amazon that I sent back and asked for a replacement but 90% have been ok.

For sellers I’ve found Argos the worst and John Lewis the best (even beating Lego themselves). Disappointingly the last set I ordered from Jadlam Racing was just placed in a bag with no protection so that box was damaged when it arrived.

Delivery companies I’ve found Evri and Yodel the worst and the others hit and miss.

Just a quick question, any issues with buying Lego on Amazon, will they pack it well or is it likely to arrived damaged
Pay £3 to have it "gift wrapped" and it comes in a crappy bag inside a normal Amazon box. Well worth it.

Tip with the lighting - buy and build it in as you go, it's a pain in the backside to retrofit on many kits.

I did the VW Camper and it involved a lot more swearing than I think it was worth..! hehe

I have the kit to fit so I shall be swearing a lot lol

Have been considering the defender 90 (10317) for Christmas. Can only find it for sale on the Lego website, is it not available elsewhere?

£157 on John Lewis, even Land Rover themselves sell it cheaper than Lego.com

...but theirs would probably take 6 months to arrive and fall apart within a year! hehe

Have to consider any freebies if you buy direct from Lego

Indeed, but a £53 saving for one set barely over £200 is fairly significant. No extra points or gift with purchase offer is going to touch that.

How can Lego justify £30.99 for this when WHSmith had them at two for £12?

Oh, of course I bought two!

Anyone interested in this: https://www.lego.com/en-gb/product/the-orient-expr...

The engine has been dumbed down from the original but owning the Disney train and crocodile I’m tempted.

Finished the Hogwarts Castle and grounds set today after my daughter lost interest in building it. It’s a really neat set with some clever use of bricks.

I really like that- my son and Dad are into Lego trains- but it’s strong money, over 10p per piece. Its a shame Lego dont offer any other rolling stock kits for the railway system without buying whole trainsets.

Also a shame the train isn't powered.........although I'm sure the aftermarket will solve that pretty quickly.

I felt something wasn’t right with it and after watching a video the guy mentioned the scale is wrong because they’ve combined elements from all the trains over the years to create something generic. Apparently the orient express is about the carriages and not the engine frown

Looks like the Norwegian locomotive they have at the Kent and East Sussex railway, probably similar to what they would have had in Denmark.
