A quick question regarding masking. I want to respray a 1:43 scale model car in the colour of the one I owned as as teenager. So, looking at the image of the model below what would be the best way of masking the windows, lamps and chrome etc. I am thinking of using Tamia masking tape applied over everything and then cutting it away with a very sharp scalpel. I obviously I will have to re-touch the silver/chrome in places but, for example, I would like to retain the chrome trims on the front wings. Incidentally I want to go from red to mid-blue. How successful do you think I could be?
The body colour looks like Humbrol red 19. It's a sort of pinkish-red and it's available in a rattle can. The chrome trim could be done with a Tamiya paint marker - X11. But I don't know if they're still available. I haven't seen them for a number of years now.Molotow do chrome markers. You can get them on amazon.

Yeah but Tamiya Thin is the best around for a reason, so there must be a difference between the makes hence different ingredients.
5 quid for how long it lasts, is well worth it.
This stuff also lasts for ages...has a good capillary action and glues well. doesn't smell as nice as the Tamiya stuff5 quid for how long it lasts, is well worth it.

So you still have to buy the Tamiya bottle in the first place?
Just go to Amazon and buy a bottle, it will be delivered in no time... 40ml (not 1/2 litre!) https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tamiya-87038-Extra-Thin-C...
I need a little help if possible.
My next build is the new 1/48 Tamiya spitfire. I want to paint it in the Dunkirk scheme of the restored N3200 at duxford.
I’d quite like to try the as restored version pictured below. To that end I’d like to add the IWM logo and duxford script. Any ideas how I can do this?
