Which kit for a "RAF Westhampnett/Tangmere" warbird? ?

If you are nearby, why not pop in to the Tangmere museum and see if they can put you in touch with the modellers who built the models on display?

Montex do a decal set for the Fly 1/32 Hurricane Mk1. This represents the aircraft flown by Sqn Ldr Michael Robinson from Tangmere in Sept 1940.

Don't know if you've been there recently, but the models on display are actually pretty ropey to be honest, they haven't aged well at all. Some discussion on the best 1/32 BOB Spitfire kits here: Best 1/32 BOB Spitfire

There's a fairly large model of what looks like a Spitfire out the back, on top of an old container...
Likely very ropey, but I am tempted to ask if they want to sell it - we've a tree I got hacked down to a 4m tree stump, and am planning the chainsaw meister to come and carve it into a sculpture this spring, with one idea being a stylised vapour trail with an impression of a Spitfire at the top... (the other leading idea is an effigy of Merlin...)

Thanks Krupp and Eric - more reading and planning!
I've seen and read that plaque, it's bordering the extant concrete runway at the boundary where the new houses have been built last year. It is indeed Hangar Drive, if you look on Google maps it's to the Eastern end of where the hangars are still visible as the photos haven't been updated since the houses were built.
Its worth a walk around the perimeter, past the greenhouses you have the 1950's blast walled dispersals , as you come out onto Church Lane there is a sleeping shelter, further down you come to Woodhorn Lane where there is the remain of the bulk fuel storage.I've seen and read that plaque, it's bordering the extant concrete runway at the boundary where the new houses have been built last year. Further out you have the RDF station remains at Halnaker hill and the decoy airfield at Slindon, plenty more as well as this .
The museum is good (just have to enjoy some of the jets for what they are rather than them having any association with the airfield). There used to be even more wreckage but I think there was change in direction and some of it was junked. Worth the entrance just to see Dennis Nobles Hurricane, although the claim that the Jumo engine came from the aircraft Dennis shot down is along shot.

Thanks Sway, appreciate it, do you know if they can be got "on the door" or do they need pre-purchase? (sorry for the really noddy questions).
It's an "On the door" event. The £10 is the normal admission fee to the museum. The model show costs nothing extra. There are also some age concessions available. The previous events have been blessed with lovely weather. I hope they can make it three in a row.

Merlin took me for a walk around the airfield today. Somehow ended up at the Gribble Inn for a cheeky pint...
As there was a bit of interest in the current airfield, thought I'd take some pics:
Here is the strip between the new houses on Hangar Drive.
About ten feet deep, running the full length.
And here's the memorial to the Halifax crew, nicely tended with some bluebells coming through just in front.
As mentioned, out the back of the museum there's a cool Spitfire model seemingly discarded... But bigger than I remember, but I want it!
