My sandscorcher I restored last year. Could actually make a profit on it on ebay now, but I don't wanna sell it just yet!

Also have been into the custom electric monstertruck thing for ages, building a 1/6th scale truck based on Tamiya Juggernaut axles at the moment. It wastes some time at least lol!

Only just found this forum! Only have 2 cars at the moment:

Tamiya Twin Detonator - Twin engined truck
Tamiya TT-01R Chassis with Subaru body and plenty of hop-ups

Pics below. Regularly race them at weekends with a mate round an empty factory car park locally.

Edited to add latest edition. And again...

Hi Roop,

Just wondered what your opinion on the Tamiya TT-01R Chassis is? Bought this a couple of months back and think it is great. See my post on page 2 for pics.

Roop has a Nissan 350z running on a TT01 chassis and the quality was dire, it actually split at one point during the build, the shop swapped it for another no questions asked and even the second one wasnt brilliant.

He hopped up the Nissan and the chassis can cope, you just have to be a bit gentle when building the TT01.

No doubt Roop will add his views.

That's odd, I bought the TT-01R on the basis that my friends TT-01 was practically indestructable, fast, 4-wheel drive, etc. Mind you, it was an Xpert Built one. He now has a TT-01R too.

I've recentlly been offed a hpi savage from a mate who replaced it with an LST, but i really cant justify £150 on something id use once a month if i was lucky!

May still have a Schumacher Shotgun somewhere about. Into aircraft now. At last count I've got about 15 airframes, quite a few German WW2 like Bf109's and a Fw190. Some IC, others fast electric, including a few ducted fans. Also got a Eco piccolo electric helicopter that I tend to crash whenever I flying, usually cos I'm drunk coming back from the pub!

Also still got a boat that I built as an O-level project (yes it is that old) that occasionally gets used.

More of a gimic I suppose, but I ordered one of these a few days ago.....

Fully functioning with 3 fans (2 thrust, and one skirt control) land or water with on the go transition between the 2 .. and its only 10cm long, chargeable from the controller.

Ordered it on tuesday and apparently (according to the tracking number) it arrived at my local depot at 4.39am today.

Ive run a few tamiya buggies, and the odd traxxas and kyosho nitro buggies and trucks too. I currently run a Tamiya TA03-R Mercedes CLK GTR with a 13T tuned motor. I also run a HPI Micro RS4 which seems to drive really nicely and handle really crisply. My brother is much more into his aircraft and has some really nice planes - spitfires, extra 300 etc. he also has a competition spec raptor 30 helicopter iirc.

After looking at some of the FG 1/5th scale RC Cars a few years ago, i was VERY tempted, especially the cars fitted with disc brakes etc, i just dont think my neighbours would be too happy me running it on the roads around here!

Only just found this forum...

I used to race 1/10th touring cars (27t stock)
Did the Nationals, BTCC and STCC.
I started with an Xray and stayed with them until late 2004 running the factory kit, then I moved over to the AEast Yokomo SD (carbon tub chassis veeeery nicely made).
Now I'm into big cars so don't get the time to race, still got all my stuff though.

Hi VL,

Sorry, I must have missed your post The TT-01R chassis is an upgraded version of the TT-01. As Claire mentioned, I found the quality of some of the plastics to be poor (particularly the chassis) whereas other parts were excellent. As an overall package, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend one as it's a great starter chassis that can be hopped up if you want. If you wanted to go racing from the word go, or fairly soon after you started then there are better Tamiyas, but TT-01 / 01R is a very good little package IMHO.

I have a Nissan 350Z based on the TT-01. It's fully ballraced, got the racing alu steering setup, alu propshaft, metal motor mount, alu motor heatsink, TRF fluorine shocks, carbon chassis brace, and the Tamiya Super Modiified 13x3 motor. Goes like the wind and at the first event I took it to (and also the first time I had driven an on-road car) I pasted everything apart from a TB-02 driven by someone with considerably more skill than me (a Tamiya Eurocup winner). plus it was raining, I was on slicks and he wasn't...! Very easy to drive, very progressive handling and pretty tough to boot. Also extremely simple to break down and rebuild to check parts / clean etc. Colour is a deep pearlescent Kandy Apple style colour. Photos don't do it justice...!
