Roop, turbine helis are amazing, not only do they look good the sound is as close to the real thing as you'll ever get.
expensive though.
Fab - tell me about it. I have got a few scale helis at the moment but all 30 or 60 size nitro as part of my vintage Kyosho collection (see www.concept30.co.uk). I intend to move on to a scale gasser - probably a vario R22 asit looks great before going for a turbine. It's a target to aim for as I am some way off yet. Hope to be able to go for the gasser in the next 12-18 months and depending on how I get on, a turbine some time after that. Turbine will hopefully be a good 'un like a scale Hughes 500 or Eurocopter with multi-blade head etc.expensive though.
Don't get time to fly the little uns at the moment. as I have nowhere to store them here ergo they are at my mum's place some hour-and-a-bit drive away. A bummer indeed.
Roop, someone i knew last year had the rapter gaser, an awsome heli with a 22CC petrol engine in (think it was 22cc) he has apprently black bagged it due to the earth comming up too fast or something....oops.
regards teh tanks, i think they we're for a fertalizer factory next door to out club, the tanks we're empty, there was a couple that crashed fixed wing into them.....made a really loud bang when they did heh heh heh

Shame. Some of the gassers are really nice. Their sheer size inevitably means they are expensive to buy (and fix) so crashing them is always bad. 22cc sounds about right. There are various capacities available in both stock and modified engines. The 23cc Zenoah is a popular choice.bob1179 said:
Anymore info on mini GT powered helis? I've got a Hirobo Shuttle though it's been in storage in the loft since I went to uni.
Lots of info at www.runryder.com and www.rchelispot.com - I would expect you will need £2.5k upwards to get a second hand turbine heli RTF. Scale models are obviously more expensive.bob1179 said:
I really want to get back into flying them again, though I think I'll need a bit of practice!
Buy a simulator. I use RealFlight G3.5 - it comes with a transmitter on a USB cable that you plug into your PC. I also have Reflex XTR but I find the flight physics aren't quite as good as RealFlight. XTR looks a bit better graphically and it handles crashes better.Gassing Station | Scale Models | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
