Hmm, thats interesting, never knew that!
News cant have git down to the shops / stockists down here in the south east! biggrin
I stand corrected!
Was deifinitely right: couldn't get Tamiya X- or XF- metallics anywhere at all locally, all said the same thing, although now I think they are being re-stocked (can't be sure).

Quite bizarre then. To confirm, I have been buying (specifically) X11, amongst others, without any issues (and have in fact just bought some more) from both online and local shops.

Maybe it was old stock, but I was told all metallics should have been returned to the importer...

I shall have to go & stock up then, just in case we start running out then!!
There's always e-bay i suppose but may have to try your suggestion of the Revell paints! Cheers. biggrin

Got myself a XF1 and X6/X7 when I was at Hobbycraft today. Also last week bought XF15 and X14 at Modelzone.

Possibly, but it's hard to believe that the numerous places I purchased it from all had old stock.

Still, if they're back in stock, everybody is happy biggrin

Sorry, yes the original post was meant to be about the XF small jars.
As Dr GN has confirmed they were withdrawn, so technically people buying them were buying old stock.
I never use TS cans so I have no idea if they were in short supply.

As the TS range is still not available here in the UK, what alternative do you guys use instead.

Humbrol acrylic gets a good mention in rc forums as well as Halford's car spray paints. Any other brand/type that you can recommend?

Most of my basecoat paints are from Zero now;

I use Simoniz domestic gloss white as a good substitute for Tamiya TS-20. Generally use Carplan sprays for other colours.
