I'll possibly be helping on the big mosaic again on Saturday.
I heard toys r us are shipping in another arctic full of Lego from down south. No wonder they were selling out of Tower Bridges so quickly, did you get a free Bricktober set as well with stuff from TRU.
The freebies we got were from Toys R Us or the VIP gift bag. We did pick up the free mini modular in TRU when we were buying a few things. Where should I have been for the Bricktober set?I heard toys r us are shipping in another arctic full of Lego from down south. ETA: the mini modular is the Bricktober! I've got two.

Worth getting the VIP ticket?
Freebies - T- Shirt, bag, poly bag sets and more. Early entry - when general admission opens it gets rammed
VIP Lounge - quiet and always a table free unlike the open seating areas
Ticket valid for all days
Can't remember the price difference but if you're taking a child I'd say do it.

Was thinking about Lego Dimensions on PS4 for my boys Christmas. Not any more. £85!!! feels like they've priced for a mid tier Lego set and simply added the price of the game on top! Even Sky landers wasn't that expensive at launch!
I felt the same, not so much the starter pack, it's the character sets at £15-£30 that I don't agree with. Then my son asked for it for xmas and I folded. I'll get me coat...

What is the free gift with a small base plate in?
They're from a company called Base Ace who had a stand in the corner behind TRU. There's 2 base playes in each one and a £5 voucher for an order with them was also in there. http://www.talkingproducts.com/educational-resourc...Spanna said:

The base plates they provide in their kits come with adhesive pads to apply to their towers etc.

£85 is a great price for a 'main' parental present. Allows a few other bits, but in reach of most families spending.
Then thirty quid for grandparents/aunts/uncles, again a typical spend.
Fifteen notes - great price for a sibling present.
My 8 year old's Christmas gifts will be almost entirely bought from Lego. Add in the fact that the margins are exceptionally low for retailers (cf. Russy), and they'll have a bloody good bonus in the New Year.
If they expand the Minecraft license and mix that with physical blocks they may well shift up yet another gear. They just seem to be going from strength to strength.

Spotted the lego advent calendar in Tesco yesterday although didn't have time to look too closely. I've not had one before but feel I can justify one this year as my daughter is nearly 4 now so about the right age to introduce lego!
We've had the advent calendars over the last few years for my two kids. The City and Star Wars packs have been best with a decent figure or mini kit each day. In 2013 my daughter (now 9) had the Lego Friends calendar and she complained that some of the days had very poor models to make - just tiny numbers of elements that created say, an Xmas parcel, whereas her brother's calendar either had figures or space ships. Last year we did the City pack for her and the Star Wars pack for my son. Both were happy and my plan is to repeat that approach this year. Mansells Tash said:
I think Russy and co need to step up and put an ecto1 and firehouse package together
Ecto1 was a limited edition and sold out long ago. We had 1000 and sold them within a couple days. Firehouse! Dont be silly, LEGO will keep this for themselves and make a few deals with some of the nationals. Independent accounts as a whole are lucky to get offered anything over the standard assortment - if we do get offered them the stock allocation is dismal. A good example is Dr Who - when details were released my account manager asked how many I wanted to order. Anyway it turns out that the amount I requested was more than was put aside for ALL of the independents in the country. Dont get me wrong, I asked for a lot (you could buy a house in some areas for the order value) but considering this stock is to cover every Toy Shop in the country I was shocked nonetheless!
