I bought the unmotorised version and it was no problem to build.

Just had the wing body truck delivered from loltoy; the first time I've not used AliExpress.

Arrived well packaged and numbered bags to help with the build. Instructions are quite complex (lots of parts being added in each step) but enjoyable so far. Happy to update with build progression if there's any interest.

Well, it's finished. It was an enjoyable build although held up slightly by having some wires the wrong size, so weren't long enough.

I bought from here: https://loltoy.myshopify.com/products/yuxing-13139

The seller was first class, keeping me informed of progress.

It was my first purchase that wasn't through AliExpress, as it was quite a bit cheaper.

I did have to buy 4x50fm pf extension leads (£5) as they were too short in the set. I didn't go back to the seller to try and get them sent out as it was quicker just to buy them when I got a few other bits and pieces.

It's also the first set I've bought that had proper numbered bags to build with.

I also bought an additional remote control so I can control all functions at the same time, without having to use the app.

Is there a Lepin version (or any Not Lego) of the new 16 x 16 road plates?

Been looking, can’t find anything other than one on Aliexpress that does not seem cheap compared to the proper Lego version.

Slightly O/T - but has anyone found a decent use for the Aliexpress coins?
I have about £35 worth, but I only seem to be able to get a 50p discount at most.

I've been reading that they can be converted into coupons during the sales, but AE always seem to have a sale on of some sort.

Some of the little pins turn freely when fitted in a hole, some are a tight fit and resist turning. I assume it means use a loose one. They always differentiated by colour in the kits I’ve built, I.e loose ones blue.

Yes, just try one of each colour, the difference should be obvious

That kit is a copy of technic set 42009 - just use the lego instructions, they will be identical.

Thanks for that ,I can cross reference as I build it ,the think I noticed with just thumbing through the MK one seems to have a lot more motors than the Lego one but as I said just went over it briefly, looks a complicated build have done a few Lego and copies this looks the hardest on first glance. Wont be starting it till Xmas time ,well we will see Xmas may come early.rolleyes

I did one of these Spitfires with my boy last night. He's doing WW2 at school, and it was a nice hour or so of quiet activity.

It was bloody difficult doing it under warm lights, I needed a cold white LED light to be able to see the difference between the green, grey and black. It would be fine in daylight.

Absolutely fine, no mis-moulds or anything.

The other boy is doing the Great Fire of London, so now I'm on the lookout for some kind of Tudor house / shop.

Anyone spotted anything, up to about £15 I guess.
