It's about the only blinking thing that they have got left.

Glad in a way that they haven't got any stock within 40 odd miles of me otherwise I'd be another £100 or so down. Too tight to pay full price when i can see that another might have an identical set which is cheaper hehe
Apparently my reserved excavator set is at my local store waiting for me. I'll believe it when I see it, as I've found the same with their stock - non-existent!

Damn, they aren't even listing it this morning!

At £38, that is a massive bargain...

Well Argos did manage to supply me with a new 8043 tracked excavator, at the sale price, despite my doubts that it would arrive.

So far I'm very impressed with this set. It's been over 20 years since I last tinkered with the stuff, but the 2 hours I spent last night, first sorting all the parts, then progressing with the first section of the build, was a very enjoyable.

I can see more sets being purchased in the future, if the wife will let me!! biggrin

All this has made me go up the loft and dig out my sets from the late 80's.
I'm starting tonight to build them up again. I feel like a 10 year old! biggrin

I wouldn't mind but I have loads of house decorating to do, but Lego is so much more fun! smile

I'm itching to open 3 of my sets that I bought recently. The excavator, crane truck and flatbed truck. I want to board my loft and carpet it hopefully in a few weeks and that will be my hide away to build the sets in peace.

This thread is responsible for me plodding around the M25 to pick up a Unimog for £110 at Argos smile Pretty pleased with that bargain!
It looks as if it's not in the new catalogue, hence the price, but if you search their website there still some to be reserved if you're lucky enough to find them in your area.

There are some left out there - a couple still in stock at Stratford if anyone's brave enough!

Damn just reserved the Loggin Truck at my local Argos. The Unimog at £109.99 is a steal if you can find one in stock.

Bought the flatbed lorry from Argos yesterday. Hardly any decent Lego in stock locally, so this was a spot of luck. Never built Technic in my life. When I opened the box and saw how many bags were inside, I got a bit of a fright! Getting there slowly.

And yes, I used the "throw all the pieces into one big pile" method. biggrin

i brought the unimog just before christmas, took a while to build, but what an immense model. Dismantled it the other day and put it back in the box to go in the loft, just don't have room to keep the models out at the minute. got a good collection going in the loft.

Oops just popped into town to get some bits and wondered past Argos - they had loads of lego on display.

Came out with the logging truck and some big action figures of batman and the joker...

If anyone else is after the unimog in the Argos sale and is near Essex/east London then the Barking store currently has one in stock (two a couple of minutes ago but I've just nabbed one biggrin), hopefully someone here can reserve it in time before it vanishes!

Cheers
