I bought this 1/700 Tamiya water line Kursk kit when I was on holiday in Devon.
I didn’t really want it, but the kids wanted something from the shop and there was a minimum card spend. (I really must try and have cash more often)
I took it to my club to see if anyone wanted it and got no takers, so I decided to build it.
I went to wickes and bought a sample tile for 99p and started painting it green and blue to look like the sea.
I used this single part fake water I have had knocking around for a while.

That was a complete fail and ended up being scraped off into the bin (I’d put it on too thick in one go)
Second attempt went much better. I waited to it to go off a bit and used a hair dryer to try and simulate waves.
In the meantime I built and painted the sub. There couldn’t have been more than 10 parts.
I put the sub in position on the tile.

Once that was dry I used some white oil paint to simulate the wake.
I was quite pleased with the outcome. It’s a bit scruffy under close scrutiny, but not too bad from a couple of feet.

Finally. This is the box art I was trying to replicate.

Sorry I had to delete quite a few pics as I had written a phone number down on my cutting mat.
Sorry.
