Just received the outstanding GP Replicas 1/43rd 1990 Mansell Ferrari 641. Not had one of their models before and although they are little more expensive than Spark but they are clearly very good quality.

And look at the packaging!!

Not very re-cycling friendly but I have had watches packed worse than that. A new brand but trying very hard to make an impression. I'll be in the queue for F92A when they release it.

Heller kit with Renaissance resin/etch/turnings detail set, bought very much back in the day. My love of the shape and scheme redeem a poor build in my eyes....which proved I did need the excellent magnifying visor that arrived half way through!

I've just found this while tidying some other stuff up - I hadn't forgotten about it, just haven't seen it for a while.

Audi / Minichamps Audi sport quattro and separate sport quattro drivetrain.

Apologies for the photo quality (or lack thereof).

I thought that was going to be a 1:48 at least! Lots of detail there.

I was thinking 1/32!

Any pre-shading involved?

Thanks guys.
I was a little nervous putting those pics up, there have been some great models on here.

Pre shading, no never done any.
One undercoat of a grey paint, dunno which one, a tamiya acrylic.
One camouflage top coat, glossed, decals, satin coat, flory dark dirt wash, AK aluminium pencil for chipping and paint wear, pencil for exhaust.
All paint is tamiya acrylic except the underside is hataka lacquer. Gloss and satin coats are hataka lacquer. Canopy dipped in 'looks like glass'.

Some extra bits added to the kit, brass gear legs, resin wheels, PE flaps. EZ line for the aerial.

The kit was on my 'shelf of doom' for 3 years, I was unhappy with the flaps.

Deffo 1/72 wink

I saw one like this on the cover of a “How To” modelling magazine, built by a ‘professional’ with beautifully detailed panel lines, which then had the roundels stuck over the top, completely hiding them.
Yours is much better. smile

Aww, shucks.

Decals and panel lines.
I used micro set/sol.
A couple of applications then sharp scalpel run down the panel line and more set/sol.
Leave a couple of days then top varnish.
Any slight gap in the decal will be hidden by the panel line wash.
I like the flory wash, its water and clay, make a mistake and you can clean it off with water.

Thought not, it actually looks like a real aircraft,

I hate pre-shading and don't know why people do it. You just don't see aircraft where every panel is light in the middle and fades to darker round the edge.

Yours is an object exercise in how to do it.

That's neat. I've always avoided models of the shorty because it is an ugly thing, compared with its LWB brother. But that is actually quite special, and I'm jealous. tongue out

[departs for eBay]

€300. Maybe I'll leave it. biggrin
