OK, here is my 12th kit I have designed since starting my own company, HMS Indefatigable, a 44 gun razee frigate, cut down from a 2 decker 64 gun ship of the line. This one is quite the monster, with the hull being almost 900mm long, and once masts and rig added, will be 1.3 metres in length. It includes fully detailed captains cabin with table and chairs. It is now almost ready for release (Masts and rig are always shown on full size plan sets)
1:64th Scale
Amazing. 1:64th Scale

That, even by the standards of others on this thread, is a masterpiece.
Thank you! This is one I have wanted to do for almost 25 years, so now I produce my own products, I could do it justice! The Italian company I used to design for said no, as they could not pronounce the name!
I will be developing a HMS Surprise this year, the frigate from Master & Commander (Patrick O Brian books)
Well, just spent a happy hour looking at your website, just fantastic. Used to make plastic models, to a reasonable standard as a kid, was thinking about starting up again. However now feel rather inspired by wooden boats! Especially as I love looking at any of the original shipwrights models in country houses or museums. And although I never intend even owning a real boat, I also really enjoy watching the YouTube series, Acorn to Arabella, and the Sampson boat restoration/ rebuild of Tallyho.
So how do I start, is there a beginners guide anywhere?

I developed a series of British historical fishing vessels specifically aimed at the complete beginner. This forum is by far the best resource for you, and here is a link to a build log of one of my beginner kits:
https://modelshipworld.com/topic/33137-erycina-by-...
All of my build manuals are dowloadable on the product page, so you can see what is involved before deciding - and all in English language!
I do knwo that most manufactures sell 'Beginner Kits' really cheap, but as will all things, you really do get what you pay for. I use the same materials in the smallest kits as I do in the most expensive, with all having pearwood planking - not the cheapest, but perfect for close up shots as it's less grainy...

Airfix 1/72 Sopwith Pup. Decals bodged together from a sheet meant for a Camel as only had the plastic parts of the kit. Rigging was 2lb fishing line painted silver. Had fun making a little diorama base. Mechanic has wandered off for a brew :-)
Nice Pup! I have one that's been on the workbench for 4 years I started rigging and it's stalled...I really must finish it, as it's a really good kit from that period in Airfix history where they were really on top of their game in terms of accuracy and surface detail.
Hi,
Started collecting Formula 1 Ferrari models (mostly 1:18 but there’s a few 1:43, couple of 1:24 and one 1:12) almost 30 years ago hobby tailed off a few years ago (although I did purchase last years car the other day to add to the collection) but I had the chance to get them out of storage the other day just for fun, hope you enjoy.

Maybe you should add a couple of the blue and white cars from 1964, just to break up all that red. Something has been taking space in my life for a couple of years which might amuse you.
My interpretation of a Horse Drawn 'Brummagem Bus'
Only the figures, people and horses, were injection moulded, the bus entirely scratch built in plastic card
The model is painted with Vallejo Acrylics
The passengers were mostly Preiser figures and were ideal for my project
Hope you like.

On the subject of Williams, here's my FW16 by Onyx, modified to represent Nigel Mansell's car from the 1994 Australian GP.
Driver removed (it was the wrong one!), front axle removed as it shouldn't have one, suspension lowered to correct ride height, TV camera and Rothmans decals added, plus a bit of tidying up here and there, particularly paint.

As a big fan of Riccardo Patrese, I finally managed to complete the full set of his F1 career in 1/43 when the 1987 Brabham was released by Spark recently. Heres a pic of the full collection, with a few 1/18 models aswell.
I also got my Jacques Villeneuve collection out the loft after over 20 years and put them on display.

Nice collection Darren! (I'm still looking for an Alfa Romeo 184 at a reasonable price.)
Posting my Williams recently reminded me that I'd done another Onyx in the same way, McLaren MP4/8 as driven by Michael Andretti in 1993.
Again, same suspension mods, fag decals and paint tidying. I also placed the steering wheel and helmet on the sidepod, as if the car had just retired - which happened quite a few times that year.

Managed to finish another one, Takom GWS-25 Seawolf launcher and a couple of missiles. Shown together with the GWS-30 Seadart launcher that came in the same box - I still have to finish the Seadart missiles.
The difference in weathering between the launchers is deliberate.
One finished, another one started. Airfix 1/35 M3 Stuart Honey.
