Got a Schumacher ProCat and a BossCat Works which I used to race - haven't moved in a few years... must get them out sometime.
I've also got packed away several destroyed Tamiya Hornets which I used to race indoors with silly motors adn sponge tyres on carpet... WHEEEEEEEEELLLIE
Got a few home-built chassis kicking around too. Well, TNH they were all cannabalised to build the next, so it's only pieces left really.

Well, i'm quite new to this game and got myself a Thunder Tiger TS4N about two years ago, don't get to use it as often as I would like !! It's mostly standard spec besides a few ali bits such as the radio deck and wheels and tyres.
It's currently using a Volvo S40 touring car body (Rydell) but I have a BMW mini shell which needs a bit of work before I can use it.
I would post some pics but i'm new to the site and haven't worked out how to do that yet !

The F1 cars are lovely models and go like nobody's business. Definitely look at one of the 4WD versions as the performance is much more accessible in smaller areas. I know it sounds terrible - a 4WD F1 car, but trust me, the 2WD ones are a nightmare on anything but ultra smooth wide circuits - you will spend more time spinning than driving forwards.
The surface does have to be very smooth (akin to a real racing circuit surface) with no loose stones or anything. When I say they are fast - they are very fast so some space is useful. Newly laid supermarket carparks are a godsend.
The only downside to the cars is that they are not that popular and therefore spares can be harder to source than parts for some of the touring car or buggy models. Given the increased fragility of the F1 cars this can be a pain. Having said all that though, they really are a precision driving machine and when you get tuned in to driving one well it'll bring a lot of satisfaction.
If it's the F1 style you want then there's no alternatives, but if you just want on-road action, something like a TT-01 or TT-01R based chassis is probably a better bet. Not as quick but you do get the precision handling plus spares and hop-ups are cheap and plentiful.
Check out a quick clip of my TT-01 Nissan 350Z below. It has been souped up a lot mind...

Hi all
I got a tamiya TA-02 chassis Mercedes DTM C-class around 7 years ago. Pretty awesome machine. However i have seen these other RC models available that would tear it to pieces. These models are 1/5 scale, petrol and have disc brakes etc. Amazing things, high prices too. Arounf £600-£800 but the speed they get too must be incredible. Check out the F1 cars on the site.

This should give you a list of all the tracks and clubs etc. And no your not too old, probs about average age for it. Also, i raced my car a few times, really good fun and better than just driving around the car park.

As Ive got a TT ST1 now, Ive converted (well, actually my BiL did all the work ) my EB4 (for about £60) into a Citroen Xsara Rally Game. Looks awesome. Soon as I get a chance to take a photo I'll post it up. The BiL did the same with his EB4, but went down the Scooby WRX route

Where's a good place to find out about tracks and clubs or am I too old these days being in my mid thirties? LOL
Is it all young kiddies and teenagers?!
*cough*
My local track is full of the older person, there are a couple of kids but the average is nearer 40 than 14.
And at 31 i am just a big kid
Hiya Just checked the fourm!!!
I got a Tamiya Mini cooper with M03 chassis - had ball bearing, turn 15 motor, with futaba MC330 esc i think, with metal steering arms.
I also got savage SS with hopped up bits like motosaver air filter, Dirt bonz tyres, Proline body, throttle mods, cam type servo saver. nitro engine is bit tired
got few other like Xmods but they are rubbish. looking to sell it.
Would love a leman type car or F1 chassis type.

Roop you git Are you some sort of closet millionaire? If I spent that much on stuff (which I would love to do) I couldn't afford to keep myself in pies.
