I wondered how much this would be on the GB site. We’re in Florida currently and this set was $29.99 in the Lego store at Disney Springs. Even with the low exchange rate it’s a reasonable saving. I bought the white 911 turbo at $14.99. ukaskew said:
The aggressively priced Friends Central Perk set crashed the Lego online stores worldwide today and has sold out.
If this was an experiment in a different pricing structure it seems to have worked, and that's for an exclusively AFOL set.
Got mine ordered as soon as it went live, very pleased If this was an experiment in a different pricing structure it seems to have worked, and that's for an exclusively AFOL set.

I was holding off till tomorrow to get the free promotional Hidden Side Juice Bar (which looks like a reasonably valuable set in its own right). Ah well! Not sure how long for though.
Hi All
I’m completely new to Lego (since I was about 8!) but have got a sudden urge to get into it at the ripe old age of 33!! Particularly interested in the creator expert series, the lunar lander and the mustang look awesome!
Looking at the price of sets from a few years ago they seem to be worth more second hand than they ever retailed for. Is that a fairly dependable trend? Would make for an easier discussion with SWMBO if I can present it as a pension diversification opportunity !!
Any tips for a newbie much appreciated, best places to buy or any other nuggets of wisdom!!

Most stuff goes up in value once it's been discontinued, particularly the adult focused sets such as Creator Expert. I wouldn't rely on it though as Lego have started to reissue older sets.I’m completely new to Lego (since I was about 8!) but have got a sudden urge to get into it at the ripe old age of 33!! Typically there is a minimum value of a set just in terms of numbers of pieces, so if you can get a good deal in a sale and put it away in the loft it seems unlikely that you are going to lose much. A lot of people practice the 'buy two and put one away' approach to fund the hobby, that's been relatively risk free for quite some time now, but certainly don't rely on that £150 set being worth £1500 in 10 years.
make sure you keep the boxes and instructions etc as that hugely increases the second hand value
if you buy on the lego site, they often have freebies and register for VIP points
Argos often have good deals but sell out really quickly
even if you don't make a profit, you wont lose much
I have sold lego by weight (just odds and sods) and even that has a value
