My order was cancelled last night but to rub salt into the wounds Lego sent me an email this afternoon, thanking me for my purchase and hope I enjoy it as much as the video linked in the email.

Bit of a daft statement since you could reduce pretty much anything that’s ever been designed and manufactured in the history of the world to be the equivalent of “just a box of x, y and/or z”.

Indeed, there’s a whole argument there isn’t there!

Anyhow, the Chiron is reduced further on Amazon to £240, a £90 saving over the Lego Store.

Looks in similar scale to the 911RS?

I was looking at the roof pieces and they seem the same as the RS.

Looks good but a little pricey considering the halo Chiron can be had for around £50 more but I suspect it will come down considerably just like the Chiron.

Somewhere I did see a side by side comparison but basically the original is 1:8 scale and the new car is 1:10 is the easiest comparison.

Taken from here,

https://www.brothers-brick.com/2018/11/20/lego-tec...

A quick analysis shows that the old GT3 RS is 1100 pieces bigger than the new RSR; this is due to a very complicated manual gear box mechanism in GT3 RS (and the new RSR has none). The measurements of the both cars also show a significant difference in their scales: the new RSR is 3”/7cm shorter, 2”/5cm narrower and 1.5”/4cm lower. Here are Porsche 911 RSR measurements: 5” (13cm) high, 19” (50cm) long and 7” (20cm) wide.

It looks to me like the new 911 RSR is a similar size to the last F1 car and Le Man car, which is good I think, as I hang those on the wall.

I would have had that if I lived closer. Knackered box wouldn’t worry me too much.

Anybody know if this is still available?

The Chiron is currently £249.99 at Smyths Toys.

Tempted however I think I should get the 911 GT3 before it is retired.

Right strategy I think. I'm hoping I can eventually get the Chiron for £200. Waited 2 years to get the 911 for £150 so I have the patience!

I posted it whilst in store Monday afternoon. I can’t imagine it being sold too quick as no one would buy it for a present with a big tear in the back.
