Finished the ISS earlier, what a brilliant build although I have no idea where it’s going to be displayed as I only accounted for length and height not depth, oops

Just a few Jurassic World sets to put together with the little dude.

We visited Billund in May last year. I highly recommend the brick house nerd

That's awesome, my little guy keeps eyeing up the hidden side sets I've bought, already buckled and built him the school bus, but can't wait until he's a bit older and we can build them together, he's nearly 4 but doesn't have the patience yet.

RE the ISS,
Who else has built one and is the droopiness of it bugging you as much as it is me?
Looks like some re engineering of the joins between the main section and the solar panels (the ball & socket jobs) is needed, it won’t rotate after it but also won’t say at both ends so badly

I’ve started digging out a lot of my old 20-30 year old City themed Lego for my kids. Worryingly I put some of it into storage “full built”!

It’s a shame that some of the white stuff has faded so badly but plenty still looks good. I need to find a new battery for the Monorail and see if it works or not..

I have the ISS here to build, I'll let you know how I get on.

I just have to clear out my CDs and repurpose the cabinets for Lego before I start getting too much more built... hehe

Built it a few weeks ago, and also noticed it sagging slightly. But I guess it is realistic as the real one would probably sag a little if it was subject to Earth's gravity at ground level!!

Rebuilt last night with a fixed connection instead of the rotating one, no sag any more

Hydrogen Peroxide is your friend with the faded/yellowed lego - Been there, done that smile

It is your duty to support the economy. Make haste.

50-50 water bleach?

Does that actually work?

Whatever you do, don't use bleach - I've read that it breaks down the lego and doesn't actually work. I used 9% Hydrogen Peroxide - Leave the lego in the Peroxide solution for a while, I think I left it for about 6 hours, but longer doesn't really hurt. You need to make sure it's left in the sun though because that activates the bleaching agent - It doesn't take it all the way back, and some of the yellowing might come back, but these are the before and after effects:

Oh, if you go in to a pharmacy and ask for loads, you WILL be questioned for your intent to use it smile

PS, thanks Parabolica - Kids are still playing with it now smile

AKA "Retr0brite" as usually done on computer equipment. It is a myth that sunlight / UV is the activating agent, mostly based on evidence from US based people who put the item outside and then forget it is 40C even in the shade. From other investigations by Youtubers, it is heat that provides most of the energy, so don't worry about a lack of sunshine. Oxygen, generated by peroxide breaking down, reacts with the bromine in the surface of the plastic which is generating the brown colour, effectively bleaching it.

Just treated myself to the UCS A-Wing, ISS and Haunted House ( although that's on back order till July ).

ISS has only just come back into stock at the Lego. I was considering having a run down to Meadowhall but beer and sitting in the garden won out ...

I heard from my nephew last night that Lego are doing a re-release of the Lambda Shuttle as a new UCS late this year. My wallet can't cope, what this, the A-Wing and the Lambo all being released in the same year. Plus I still fancy the RSR to go with my Le-mans and F1 cars.
