We are in pendine. WiFi and phone signal is “patchy”.
Nice - we go to Stackpole (near Pembroke) every year. In case you don’t know the area there are a few small but interesting military museums fairly close: Chapel Bay Fort - about 45 mins away - Restored fort, run by an ex-soldier who lives there with his family. Encyclopaedic knowledge of all things military. Worth a tour if you’re into that king of thing. ETA - Seems to be closed due to COVID at present.
Pembroke Dock Heritage Centre - about 30 minutes. Quite a few models there, and contains some parts of a Sunderland flying boat they’re recovering from the river.
Carew Control Tower - about 30 minutes - loads of WW2 memorabilia and a restored tower you’ve got pretty much free access too. Also restoring an Avro Anson. Great bunch of enthusiasts. Only open Wednesdays and Thursdays I think.
If you’re interested - make sure you double-check opening times/restrictions. We were down there in June, and there were restrictions in place.
Cheers.
Mind you it’s been raining pretty much all day today, so you never know…
A bit of a resurrection for this thread.
One of my goals for this year was to advance my figure painting skills.
Here’s a German infantry man I am working on for a club competition.
Is dr_gn mentioned before it really is a different discipline from other modelling.
I’m pretty pleased with how it’s going, but still have a long, long way to go.
If anyone is interested it’s a 1/35 figure from miniart.

Figures is a completely new area for me as well. I am trying, using some of your techniques and advises but it is very difficult. Improvement through repetition and learning by doing is probably the answer.
This is an F16 pilot in 1:48 straight out of the 1976 release Monogram box, without any further scratched or added stuff:
That’s a really nice job for an older figure. I shoehorned in a figure to a gee bee that I’m currently building. Not sure it was worth it..This is an F16 pilot in 1:48 straight out of the 1976 release Monogram box, without any further scratched or added stuff:
