Looks awesome - Are you displaying it with the covers off? I saw on the Spot Model website some 1:43 body stands the other day.

Are the intake trumpets turned or cast? They will be the crowning glory for the engine.

Those stands are of interest thanks. Im also concidering as i have the other Ferrari to purchase a transporter of 50s 60s era, a bit on the expensive side though.
The trumpets are turned alluminium, but not belled out, very square edges so a bit of finishing is required.

Tameo do aftermarked versions, but presumably the ones in the kit or the best ones to use:

I wonder if you could polish them? I was going to use Autosol on a cotton bud, spun up in a Dremel to polish my wheel rims, but I've heard white metal tarnished very quickly.

Not to sure about Autosol. I think it might be too aggresive.
I used Silvo inpregnated non abrasive wadding on my Ferrari 250 GTO with great results and has lasted over 2 years fo far.
You could always wipe a liquid car polish over after, the thin nano spray type product
.
Trust this helps

Thanks. I've also got some stuff called Simichrome, which is less aggressive. I think I'll try it, and PVA the wheels together. Even the tyres hold the halves together, so if they do tarnish, I can always drop them in water, dismantle and spray them (or re-polish).

It's true that polished white metal dulls over time. I just give mine a coat of clear to prevent this.

I just realised I’ve already primed the rims.

"Tarnish Guard" in a rusty tin made me smile...I suspect we've all got similarly patinated tins of Silvo and Brasso on the shelf though! Next to the 2-in-1....

Just fitting all the parts on before the primer goes on before and inspecting them before final red goes on. The fuel tanks and rear cowl have some nice brass PE, shame to paint it really.Fitted mirrors and rear grill. Then step back to level 25 and carry on.

It would look great polished to a mirror finish with the white metal and brass.

Great to see some colour going on this kit as most of the chassis, engine and gearbox is silver/aluminium.
Found that the PE fuel tank straps wouldnt take to the tank very well and risking making a mess of it, so have made up a decal built up with base coat, top coat, colour matched and laqured ready for cutting into strips.Cleaned up all parts ready for priming and painting. Woops dropped one fuel tank and had to do it all over again. Some holes in the air intake grills had filled up with paint, just needs poking out with a pin.
PICS.

Looks a good finish, shame about the mesh. Are you airbrushing the paint? I’d be surprised if airbrushed paint filled the mesh, although I guess it’s tiny.

The Tiny mesh will clean up ok with a pin. I’ve painted the panels with a spare Tamiya aerosol warmed up in a mug of hot water for 2 mins, gives a nice even flow and finish. Then the same with lacquer.
