I don't understand... They've created an osprey before? Set 8434 is granted far less detailed, but clearly an osprey
They shouldn't have called it an Osprey, then everythig would have been fine.

Calling it a "Tilt-rotor rescue helicopter" would have been fine.

Lego Group have confirmed that the Osprey will not be released.

I am both saddened & irritated that a small minority have ruined a perfectly good model. So why did Lego release the Sopwith Camel & why are they still selling kits with pistols & machine guns - as with the Caterham?

Another nail in the coffin of freedom.

Gutted.

Now if only Russy manages too lose a pallet of V22’s.......
How many Land Rover Defenders have been used by Military Forces around the world ...............

Did Russy get any Osprey's in stock? If so, has he been ordered to return them all I wonder?

Also very sad to see this - a set I was looking forward to building.

It seems that being outraged is a hobby for some. They could have raised their objections (or “concerns”) much earlier, but they didn’t. They waited till the last minute so it actually had an impact upon Lego and gave them some faux self worth. Pathetic really.
It's not like it's a new policy from Lego though is it, the policy of no military/guns has been in place for decades.

Its a shame, nice kit, Im sure the Chinese will make plenty versions of it!

Apart from the Sopwith Camel - & the Caterham has pistols & a machine gun included as smaller parts so their argument is rubbish.

All we can hope for is for the kit too be released as a Search & Rescue helicopter.

How daft.

One came over my house yesterday and was involved in a local search and rescue !

Isn't the issue that a) it's a licensed set from Bell/Boeing, not a generic tilt-rotor, and b) there aren't actually any non-military V-22s in existence, even though the Lego one has been designed to be a search and rescue model.

Repackage it as the AgustaWestland AW609, which does have civilian use.

No idea, apparently it was involved with a search and rescue around lands end. Iam trying to find out more about it.

Mad looking thing.

There was no search and rescue yesterday using a V-22 osprey offshore or along the coast. Possibly the police in land but they’d still normally come through my office for assistance.

Signed. It’s a ridiculous decision by Lego Group. IMO.

I thought the point here was that all Osprey are operated by the military?

It landed several times at lands end airport. Frew over me a few times and all the while there was a missing person search on the moors of west penwith.

I assumed that it was involved but if it wasn't then its presence is even more of a mystery.

I have since seen a video of it taking off at lands end tken by another local.

So, any ideas? I'm curious!

No idea, but I see from Facebook that a few have made it into the wild.
