Am I alone in finding some of the Speed Champion sets incredibly effective, given size and small brick count ... whilst others just look very amateurish?
Nope - I really like them too, although this latest batch is a bit meeh.
But will probably still get them smile

Some certainly look better than others, however I often find them much better "in the brick" rather than the box pictures.

The best looking one out of this lot seems to be the old Corvette IMO.

But I also will probably get them all...

Yeah some look good, some not so in my opinion. Been a bit quiet on Speed champions range so pleased new models coming out.

Disappointing the see Lego are not offering sale items this year for their Star Wars May 4th promotion. First time in many years they haven’t. Maybe their profits have shrunk to only a couple of billion rolleyes

Was in the Lego store this morning. Didn't realise how big the shuttle actually was!

Looks awesome.

They seem to nail the classics (always tucked away in the expensive twin sets), which is interesting as they have a lot smoother curves in real life so logically you'd think it might be the other way around. Some of the new ones in this batch, imo, look dreadful, I think there is simply too much going on with modern cars to really capture them.

I think you've nailed the issue, it's the amount of details on the majority of modern cars and a lack of clean lines

The Audi Ur Quattro model for example looks absolutely superb.

If anyone missed out on R2 and really does't want to wait 60 days for the back order shipping.

Let me know. Might be able to assist

That is rather cool.

Mine.....

I almost went with the moc you have used but not having those sets meant it was cost prohibitive.

Both are so cool!!

Now announced https://www.stonewars.de/news/lego-speed-champions...

Koenigsegg Jesko
GR Supra
Mclaren Elva
Chevrolet Corvette C8-R & C3
Dodge Dragster & Challenger
Ford GT & Bronco R

All pictures in the link above.
Well they're all hugely disappointing. Supra looks weird and the Jesko and Elva I've never even heard of (although all McLaren's look the same so it makes no odds).

What I find a shame is with the double sets you always get one really good model and one that's just a bit meh. If they sold them separately I'd be tempted by some of them.

They should have put a Kenny Baker minifig in there.
