What a ugly model!
I don't quite understand why they've done another Camper and yes, it's not the best-looking is it?

I'm probably still going to buy it though.... hehe

It is just me of are these new models getting pretty expensive?

I'm sure they last camper was around £85 when released.

Yes the new one has more pieces but that's quite a jump.

Yes they are taking the piss with that price £85 to £150 is a hell of a jump.
Ive always bought real lego unless its retired, but i might just go straight KO for that price. furious
And its stickers again, cant even be arsed with printed pieces.

£150.00 for that ugly (the front end mainly) monstrosity?

Err. No thanks. I’ll pass. Not going too get stung like I did with the 488 GTE.

Re. the price though, I think it was on Reddit I read that the older camper was released a decade ago, it was apparently one of the longest continually-produced sets..

£150 is still a lot but I suppose 'adjusted for inflation' or however you want to view it, it makes a bit more sense. The 911 Turbo / Targa that came out recently was £120, I guess the camper is a slightly bigger set so it's not that surprising.

I don't think I'll bother with this one, there's a few older sets I'd like to add to the collection first (though I've ran out of storage / display space...)

Can't see any reason at all I'd want to buy that.

Needed to be a slighter darker blue for a BTTF diorama with the DMC smile

It's VW, there's a massive scene around the brand and let's be honest a massive scene around the camper-including T2. I think it'll sell well.

The price jump is crazy. Not sure how they can justify that. The appeal of theses vehicles was not only the build but the price point of sub £100.

I wonder if we can get back to instructions like that where multiple parts are added per step.

T2 not a great looking thing.

I'd probably only buy one at a deal.

I also read that the T2 is not to the same scale as the Fiat 500, Mini, Beetle, T1 & Caterham, which is a big negative IMO.

T1: 30cm long by 14cm tall
T2: 35cm long by 15cm tall

Seems fairly similar?

I think the wheel on the front doesn't do it any favours - makes it look a bit 'snouty'. Would be better without and the usual VW emblem in its place imo.

The problem with the camper is the headlight are not pointing forwards.

It looks like Sid the sloth from Ice Age.

I see what you mean. Could be a way to 'fix' it perhaps?

Unbelievably tricky!!!

Definitely went a bit Lego blind at times but a fabulous build! Quite incredible.

I'd seriously recommend this!

Told you my brother said it was good..! I've not got it myself yet but perhaps it'll go on the list shortly.. It'll be the second time I've bought it if it does - I got my brother's for him for his birthday. biggrin

How does the Porsche 911 compare size wise to the Mini and Caterham, will it display all ok with them.
