Signature Models made the #96 Le Mans Aston Martin MKII race car (1934)

I couldn't resist to customize this model and add a few details.

This base model by Minichamps is used to make a replica of a Galaxit Black Metallic SLR.

The interior got a new colour, better seats, safety belts and has carpets.

The side mirrors are from a Maisto model (slightly modified) as the original ones kept braking. Older plastics can get very brittle.

The brake callipers are painted red.

I started a year ago to replica the Porsche 911 Nebraska by Singer Design in scale 1:18.

These two AUTOart models will be used to create the Singer 911.

A quick fit to see in the parts are interchangeable.

First making the side smooth. All trim is removed.

The gabs between the indicators and the wheelarches have been filled. Also the front RS bumper now has the same width as the wider Turbo body.

The side and rear (bumper) are getting the right shape.

The front and rear bumper need quite some work to get to the rights shape.

Meanwhile testing some Fuchs wheels for the right size. These are too big.

Here I've used smaller inserts while the outer rim has the same dimension. Should be 17"or 18". Also the rear spoiler looks promising.

The general shape is OK. Satisfied with the new rear wing although it needs a bit of work.

The bottom part of the wheel arch infront of the rear wheel is much thinner so again the Dremel is patient to cut away the metal. First I had to fill the inside of the wheel arch to keep the right form as the arch should still follow the lines of the rear wheel.

A picture is much clearer.

It has taken a while but finally the Singer Design Porsche 911 Nebraska is finished.

What happened in the mean time?

The body gets a last sanding.

The body is sprayed in a very soft white and black details are added.

From the last step this looks fairly easy. Problem with mixing two models; nothing fits. Every little thing needs adjusting, modifying or needs to be altered in some way.

The old 'interior' is out. Now the carpet needs to go.

Half way making the new interior

The Nebraska this afternoon

One of the most beautiful cars competing in the expert class in the Tulip Rallye, an Alfa Romeo 1900 Berlina.

This is a customized diecast miniature scale 1:24.

Colour is changed, bumpers are removed, wire wheels and spotlights were added. Also bucket seats, quick fasteners, towing eyes and livery are custom made.

I design them myself and then have them printed by precisionlabels.com.

They do white, silver and gold on transparent water slide paper.

Pontiac GTO form 1965, a true muscle car. Right? On Discovery channel I saw many programs like Overhauling, the Gas Monkeys and so on. Now I got my hands on an American car and sourced a supercharged motor. Time to play!

Found 4 chromed wheels that could work on the car.

After cutting a big hole in the bonnet the blown engine fits quite nicely.

The door gabs of the Maisto base model are wide. Very wide. Extremely wide. So made those smaller. The doors don't open any more but I don't fit myself anyway. Also made a bigger cover / sill between the wheels.

Then lowered the stance, added yellow bucket seats with safety belts, metal plating for the doors (the inner door lining), a roll cage, new exhaust, front spoiler, quick fastners and decals. The wheels at the rear got bigger and wider tires. Also the rim is now 5 mm wider (I used an other rim for that)

Thanks. Still need to make the picture of the engine.

A couple of weeks ago, this big model came limping in. It is a 1:12 Corvette by Franklin Mint.

One wheels broke from the hub, the roof was disintegrating, trim came off, doors didn't fit any more. In other words, the Vette was in desperate need of restoration.

The Goodwood green and white striping look very classy together with the green interior, just like the real car (no pics yet).

The Triumph Spitfire used to be a small affordable and exotic looking sportscar. This mark IV looks very decent but a bit dreary. It is a diecast 1:18 from Sunstar.

A 'Cafe raceR' appearance is what I'm aiming for.

Front spoiler, removed wind screen, stream line head rest, metal plated interior, detailed engine bay, classic bucket seat, quick fuel filler, quick fastners, big bore exhaust...

Now choosing wheels.

The owner of this Gulf Blue Porsche 911 Targa asked me to replicate his car based on a model by GT Spirit (scale 1:18).

A couple of mods as requested:
- bullit mirrors
- Recaro seats with Blaupunkt headrests
- same decals as on the real car
- different steering wheel
- different wheels (rear)

This is as far as a GT Spirit resin model can be taken to bits:

A new coat of paint and some of the black parts repainted already.

Customizing the seats (based on G model seats).

Couple of shot after finishing the miniature Porsche.

Like it?
