It’s just a box, they just go in the bin surely?
Outer box being ripped isn’t a problem - however the Lego box itself is ripped open so I have no idea how many (if any) bags are missing.

I’m not going too start the build only too find bags missing. That would be a real PITA.

There are 2 ruined boxes in the photo, the outer brown cardboard box doesn't usually* matter. The inner Lego box absolutely does, probably worth 10-20% of price when selling.

  • The Lego branded boxes for UCS Star Wars Falcon, ATAT etc are worth keeping if selling in the future.

I have the Defender on the way. I'm rather late to that party, but it was down to £125 at IWOOT and my resolve faltered. My wife's comment was "I was wondering when you'd get that one."

Could just do with hiding this for a couple of days after accidental purchase

Put it inside a large technic box that your other half already knows about., Referred to as a Trojan box. Very useful for sneaking things around in.

Yesterday I built bag 1 of the Defender. Jolly clever stuff.

Today I took it to bits and started again, because I want it to be right hand drive.

My fingers hurt.

Just built that one. Really like it. Could have done with some numbered bags though

I just finished the Defender - most enjoyable.

Maybe the Sian next, but that's awfully expensive.

I've been a fan of Lego aircraft, but this looks like a genuinely intriguing build:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JopTLSvjBcg

I think I'll wait to see where its price settles after it's been out for a while...

And, as proof that Lego is educational, I knew that all props change their pitch, but I never know that helicopter blades change *as* they rotate. I thought forward motion was just done by titling the whole lot of them together...

I've signed up to Brick Club. Constant stream of Technic sets, no need to store or sell the finished item. If it's of interest I will update as I go along.

biggrin If they didn't change pitch as they rotate it would flip over as the blades going forward generate more lift than the 'down wind' blades. So one side of the disc is providing more lift than the other.

Good video here showing start up and flight with the camera on the blade....

Looks a good idea, will be very interested to hear how it works out in practice.

Wilco.

I've gone for the £13-a-month, six sets a year one, so effectively £26 per set. My man maths tells me I'd lose that buying, building, and selling, and it's less effort. I know for others the ownership of the finished thing is part of the joy - for me the building is the good bit.
