Or an ultra-rare minifigure they had to pay £120 for on ebay...

In terms of piece count (954 pieces) vs current sets, it falls between 42139 All Terrain Vehicle (764 pieces, £64.99) and Dom's Dodge Charger (1077 pieces, £89.99), nearer the latter, so around £80. Which still isn't £100+.
You're right and Sherman is wrong. I'm not sure why he or she is even trying to argue it.

The promise was sets with an RRP over £100 which as you say gets you into higher piece count and technicality of build. Either a kit had an RRP of £100 or it didn't - and trying to excuse it based on "...well it might possibly be worth that today..." misses the point.

They promised one thing but have, so far, not delivered it.

I've asked if there's an option to only have the higher piece count sets - ie those which would have a present day RRP over £100, which I don't think is enormously unreasonable. I don't expect Veryron level every time (though occasionally seems fair), but I'll give them a chance to do what they said they'd do.

I wonder if its an average of £100 per set. This time you got a £60 set. Next time you get a £200 set?

That's still not what it says on the website when you sign up.

"We ensure that all Technic kits sent have a minimum RRP of £100.00"

Not average. Not inflation adjusted. Not daft resale. RRP.

.. And a response - they're going to change the wording on the website. banghead

Also if I give them a list of all the kits I don't want they'll put them on a block list. Too much fking effort for them to just do what they say on their own website, clearly.

That is not very nice. Is it. Some were giving the benefit of a doubt...

It sounds to me like you're taking this a little more seriously than you perhaps should for Lego...

I understand that some (most even?) people wouldn't be bothered - absolutely fine, and I am a bit envious. However, this matters to me.

From my point of view I signed up for a very clear service; 6 kits a year with a minimum RRP of £100. That suited me perfectly - I like complex, absorbing builds, but the loft is already piled high. They are not providing that service, and their response is to change the description.

I'll ask for their list and choose the ones that fit what I expected; I think that solves the problem.

In other news I finally took a picture of the finished RHD Defender.

Bravo but...I hate to tell you this.... On a Defender, the rear side box always goes on the right-hand side as you look at it from the back, regardless of whether it's LHD or RHD...

Some irony being that we are on page 404.

It was a £90 RRP set so at least it's in the right ballpark...! smile
