I built it using the Pimp my Porsche v1.4 MOC instructions which features loads of modifications and improvements to the original build.

Is 42040 worth £130.00?
Tempted but not sure I should.
Its a fun build. Not many features though. Flaps move and the engine pistons movve as the propellor spinsTempted but not sure I should.
'Water' can be dropped.
Seems to be a new version out.

42040 is american colour scheme smaller style plane.
New one is european colour scheme on a bigger style plane from what I can tell.

I was having a think about what I'd like in a Technic car set.
Easily removable body - not licensed - with scissor/gullwing/other weird doors
Funky suspension - maybe pushrod?
Four wheel steer that crabs at small turns, and opposes at higher
A V10.
A gear train with minimal backlash, and where the pistons get busy at low speeds.
For under £200. Comments and abuse welcome.

The old F1 car (the last one they did before the McLaren) has pushrod, I imagine the McLaren F1 has it too.Easily removable body - not licensed - with scissor/gullwing/other weird doors

Trouble is I now want to find my 8860 car and do that! But I think it's lost
It would be great if Lego had included a homage to 8860 for their 90 year anniversary, like they did with the spaceship and castle. It has to be one of their most iconic sets, and one which pretty much every Lego fan of a certain age owned.Ash_ said:
What I really want from Lego with these supercar builds is accurate tyre widths. Narrower front/wider rear etc. On the New Ferrari they have two wheel designs (for left and right hand side), so it shouldn't be difficult, would make them much nicer I think.
I can see the desire for that but I can also see that it would double the tooling costs and increase logistical complexity for what's probably going to be among the lowest volume parts. Personally I think it's unlikely from Lego but there are aftermarket wheels out there. BobToc said:
