good build but found it a bit basic. Doesn't sit on the stand properly for me either.
I've just built this as my first ever foray into the world of Lego Technic. I did take my time as not to mess anything up (which I did and fixed). Really enjoyed it and surprised that it has working pistons and a 2-speed 'gear-box' with gear selector. Really impressed, and yes it does sit a bit wonky on the paddock stand.

I've done the MT-10 and the M1000RR but this was my favourite out of the 3. Looking forward to the similar sized H2R coming out this year. It's the perfect size, doesn't take too long you become bored of it, and not filled with stickers like the BMW.

That's it with 1-link already taken out. It was the last piece I done and by that time my fingers were sore. I'll see if I can adjust it later.

I think they give you extra links. I never count them, just put them all on then adjust the tension by removing them.

The first set I built a few years ago when I returned to Lego, an absolutely brilliant kit!!!

It is a good kit, but I have run out of space, so something needs to go to make room for the D11 & Concorde.

Number 1 son brought the Ferrari SP3 I bought him for his birthday and the fake Lego huge truck I bought him for a pre-Christmas present. I was/am mighty impressed! The Ferrari is fantastic and the details are terrific, the big truck thing is also great but seems a little less sturdy than genuine Lego as the trip down here made it shed an axle/diff/wheels.

I also got him that HUGE crane thing on the previous page, that should keep him busy for a while.

I am surprised though at just how much all this Lego is: the Ferrari was about £300, the crane is £460 while the knock-off was only £200. Still a lot of dosh when I remember buying him Lego sets from Woolworths for under £20!

You could make it cheaper by buying him less crazy expensive sets.

Those are some of the biggest sets to be fair...

I just finished the Mars Rover - pretty good, a bit heavy on the decorative bits maybe, but the suspension and steering are very clever.

I have the same problem, but I’m too much of a collector hoarder to actually get rid of anything. I’ve got the original Star Destroyer and Death Star 2 in bits in boxes that have never been on display since I moved here, but I still can’t be bothered to sell them.

I have listed this for a fixed price, and if it sells for that, it sells. If it doesn't it will be the first one I keep and stash away in the box.

I really enjoyed the Mack. Yeah it takes up space and I was trying to switch my display models away from Technic. I put mine up for sale (June last year) on the FB Marketplace for £200 (I paid £100 for it used) and had immediate responses.

Guy came and collected the next day.

One of the kids is interested in how an F1 car "works", is the McLaren Technic set any good? Dad will need to help of course but is the suspension and steering fairly accurate to a real formula car?

It's rack and pinion steering, and push-rod suspension, so probably?

I would say a Tamiya model would be better to show off thre workings and it will actually move.

I've decided to downsize somewhat - I'm looking to sell just over 50 assorted Technic sets, some opened and some unopened.

I know I could list them all individually on eBay or similar but I don't really have the time and then there is the hassle of getting them posted.

Has anyone come across an organisation or individual who buys in bulk?

Little boy has moved onto technic from normal lego.

Last normal build was the minecraft iron gollum which has flew through in no time at all.

He's now gone for the Bugatti Bolide as it was on offer. Couple of years too old for him but he's def enjoying it, taking him a bit longer than the original stuff!

Seems a nice enough build so far where Dad has had to intervene biggrin
